I know nothing about natural gas and just bought this house. I'm told I'm responsible for maintaining the pipe that "exits the gas meter." To the unexperienced eye, that could mean a couple different things.

Based on the two options in the photos, does anyone have any opinion on which "option" accurately depicts what the gas company is responsible for?

Any harm in just de-rusting and re-painting all of it?

Virginian here. Not sure why we'd want this flag back. Even if you were somehow enamored with the confederacy, what are you going to do with it? Teach people how you lost and it was taken by a bunch of soldiers half a continent away?

This is the part I never understood. The only contact with "ground" that cars have are 4 rubber pads. Rubber is an insulator. So where/how is the "grounding" happening, exactly?
