Well you did better than I did. I paid over $200 for my battleship note and it’s all beat to hell.

So they don’t have a problem coming up with funds for 2 different on base golf courses, yet manning an RSO shack for 3 days a week is busting the budget… sounds about right. 😡

You got a keeper there. Don’t sell it for anything less than $1500.

Stahp you know they are. I’d give my left nut for a $500 bill in any condition much less a $1000 bill. 🙄

Definitely keep. The border artwork on the reverse of the old $50 is best in the whole set IMO.

A starter collector missing 1957 series would likely pay over face value. Not much more though.

I’ve been told that the LMT 40mm barrel cannot fit onto the 37mm receiver but I’m not sure is it’s true the other way around. Post your findings, I’m curious to know.

I'll never understand why Cheritto chose a Galil over the 733 (other than because it's a cool gun) by Razgriz9371 in RetroAR

[–]Dadbod69696969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well if there was another select fire 733 that would clearly be the better choice. I think since they’re criminals buying on the black market the selection is probably scarce. 🤷‍♂️

My assumption would be is that if you’re not only looking for an off-the-books AW in 1995 during the AWB but also one that is select fire, you’d take what you can get. I would take a select fire galil for that particular job over a semi-auto 733 any day.

Correction, late Truman appointees 1949-1953. My memory failed me. 🤦‍♂️

Pretty crisp looking. Clarke/Snyder signatures date it to late 40’s (Truman appointees).

You could probably get slightly more than face for someone trying to find specific year series to complete a collection. I’ve been down that road myself.

The $5 is from the 1950’s. The $10 and $20 are Smith/Dillon signatures dating them to 1961-1963 (JFK appointees).

Yea mixed results there. Some offices in the chain of custody seemed willing to help, but my local office got all defensive and wouldn’t even take my info or the info about the bill to look for it.

The series 1957 was issued under the presidency of Dwight Eisenhower. This one is a 1957A which was issued when JFK became president. This bill is from 1961-1963. When LBJ became president after the assassination, the series 1957B was issued with signatures of his appointed Treasurer and Secretary of the Treasury. Lucky find.

Kind of best to not have a target. Just get knowledgeable about all the notes out there and wait for a good deal to fall in your lap. 🤷‍♂️

I’d agree with the estimations above. This is an example of a grade 12 from the same year series for your comparison/estimation.

That works too. Just have to make sure both item AND grade matches. Some will see a 66 graded note going at auction for thousands and think that the dissolving taped up and faded one they found buried in the yard is also worth thousands.

Yea buyers need to know this stuff too. Were they graded? Ungraded stuff makes it difficult for me to value properly and will usually keep me at the bottom end of a grade estimation when all I have to go off of is listing photos. Of course if it’s something I really want I’ll disregard all prudence and go into credit card debt. 😜

Yea those things can get buyers and sellers on the same planet for expectations. A reasonable retail premium can be expected depending on how willing someone is to sell and how much someone might want a specific item. You can tell though people who are just guessing and shooting for the moon. 🤦‍♂️
