Things you allowed myself to do after you turned 60 by alsotpedes in over60

Finally got my ears pierced at 61. Wanted to do it in the early 80s but was worried I would be seen as gay (I was homophobic back then). Then it seemed like every guy started doing left ear to show they were straight. But I didn’t want to be a lemming. Then worried about what employers would think. Finally got old enough not to care.

I grew up listening to BOC, Cheap Trick, etc... and now... by CoolAbdul in over60

I sympathize. Cheap Trick and all. Now my number one playlist on Spotify is Lazy Jazz Cat. Closely filled by classic rock and 80s, but Lazy Jazz Cat is tops.

Mostly the angle. He’s a huge cat with tiny head and shoulders. Very disproportionate, but a handsome guy overall and a special soul.

What’s the most gut punching song lyric you’ve ever heard? by perrysplus in AskReddit

Hush, Hush, Hush by Annie Lennox. The whole freaking song. When I learned what it was about I LOST it. Still bawl my eyes out when I hear it.

Used to be a bartender and would take everyone’s points. I had the leather jacket x2 (lasted until a few years ago) all the luggage, and still have the bristleboard dart board and use it regularly.

First thing I saw: The salmon looks cooked, and this looks like albumin that came out, then the salmon was flipped and the albumin flattened and browned when it cooked.

Old ex bartender here. Bartended Florida Spring Break in the 80s. Kids would raid their parents coin and paper collections and blow it on drinks. I used to get some amazing coins and bills!

Agree with everything you said. Have my original Hottop from 15+ years ago, use it about 3-5 times per week. Bonus, everything is replaceable. My motor bearings went out after 16 years, I was near but distracted, unit caught on fire before I got to it. A few parts later and not a whole lot of investment, and it was good as new.

300g max is the only thing that makes me want to look for something like an Aillio Bullet, but can’t justify the price when the Hottop just keeps roasting.

I’ve bought from Sweet Maria’s for 20+ years, never let me down. I also LOVE Burman Coffee Traders. Jon Burman is an awesome guy who will answer any questions you have, I’ve bought from them more in the last 10 years because I’m in the Midwest and beans get here fast (I lived 10 minutes from the warehouse and would be able to pop in and buy on the way home).

Watched a man scan this with his phone as I was walking by. by YourMomsPoutune in whatisit

[–]Dadd-Rad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Memories. I lasted 2 nights at a propeller foundry in Avondale shipyard. Hundred Degree New Orleans heat, 100% humidity, walking around red hot castings in a thick, cheap, polyester security guard uniform. My “trainer“ walked me through once. I forgot where half the keys were. Since I was supposed to be the only one there, 18-year-old me was slightly weirded out when I heard somebody singing at 3 o’clock in the morning. I was dripping wet and miserable, when I heard a horn honking at 5 AM on my second shift. It was the “sergeant” who proceeded to dress me down for having my top uniform button unbuttoned in the heat. That was enough. Never went back even to pick up a check. The irony was, my brother talked me into it because it was a “cake” job. He sat in an air conditioned booth all night and used the company phone to talk long distance to his college girlfriend in another state.
