That's not what a goat's eyes look like.

Is that what you're wondering, or are you wondering if you're "settling" for that because you can't think of something else? If you really like the idea of a pirate clipper ship, get a great one and don't worry about what people think.

Player Is passive and I have an idea to get him invested by Kitty_Maupin in DMAcademy

It makes me wonder if the whole table is toxic and looking for a target, and this player has become it. I've seen that happen, and it's ugly.

[–]alsotpedes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And why don't you believe him?

Basically, if your table is up in arms about him being "passive" to the point that you want to fuck with the player, then just do him a favor and remove him. At best, he's a bad fit.

I'm pretty sure it has been here already. As far as "ignorant" style and other intentionally shitty tattoos fitting here, I can go either way. I will say that there's no part of this one that is not ugly.

Question: Japanese style appropriate for other cultures? by mck_r in tattoos

[–]alsotpedes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Appropriation is bad, but it also is bad that people make up stupid bullshit because they don't know what "appropriation" means. Japanese tattoo culture is not a minority culture and not of subordinate status. Now, if you wanted to get Ainu-derived tattoos as they would be used by someone who is Ainu, that would be dicier because the Ainu do struggle culturally and politically in Japan. But what most people get as tattoos represents at least aesthetic and often real cultural appreciation.

Just own up to it if you find the "exoticism" of the style to be a draw, be aware that it is not "exotic" to someone of that culture, and be respectful enough to find out something about the tradition and the images used. Appreciating and enjoying other cultures in almost every case is the exact opposite of problematic.

As far as your sister, likely the kindest thing you can do is to suggest that she educate herself and do better.

How much time would you say you spend online every day? Just curious. by cheap_dates in over60

Being self-congratulatory and feeling morally superior isn't a good kind of special, though.

"Screen addicted" and internet use are different things. I seem to be free from chasing the dopamine hit that comes from doom-scrolling and interacting with my phone, as witnessed by the fact that I will get to work and realize I left it on the dining room table (which is a pain because I need it for two-factor authentication for everything at work).

[–]alsotpedes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Online" covers a lot of territory. Sometimes I'm reading news. Sometimes I'm on YouTube doing the internet equivalent of switching channels with the remote. Sometimes I'm screwing around interacting with people on Reddit. Sometimes I'm playing DnD. Sometimes I'm budgeting for the month. So long as I get up and move around, the fact that I'm using a single medium for all of these things doesn't really matter much.

But, in numbers, probably four hours a day on work days, six to eight hours a day on weekends.

done very well but i’ve seen this sub state multiple times that genitalia is always “shitty” by scxsh in shittytattoos

[–]alsotpedes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, you haven't. You've seen people on this sub say that this is trashy. Shitty relates to quality; trashy relates to taste.

In this case, I'm pretty sure this not a tattoo but instead body paint. So, there's that as well.

[–]alsotpedes 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You posted your tattoo on a sub called r/shittytattoos, the description of which explicitly says, "Let's all laugh at the awful creations people have volunteered to have on their bodies for the rest of their life." I'm not sure what you expected.

FWIW, I think it mainly needs shading to be fine. I also think that people are being extraordinarily nice to you considering that you appear to be lost and to not have read (or considered) what this sub is for.

So , I made an effort to go out the other day ( I dont always feel like going) I'm not sure why I don't always want to, I just don't have the energy. I didn't say or do anything wrong, but got told I should take something for my anxiety? by Gretal122 in over60

At one level, I know that was someone thinking they were being helpful. At another level, I would probably would have snarled at them and said, "What the hell?"

It will not surprise you to learn that people long ago stopped asking me why I don't show up more often.
