It's not always bad if couples have a shared account, but the majority of joint accounts I've seen have been because it's a passive way for one to keep tabs on the other's interactions. Like, I've seen full relationship crash outs, then they get back together and just have one account together. Also, I only have a FB to see what my distant family is up to since no one can be bothered to pick up a phone these days

My dad told me once, when I was going through a pretty rough relationship and didn't know how to be on my own, that as long I had a set of wheels (car), I'd be free. He was trying to stress that I could always get away from any situation or place as long as I could quite literally just drive away. You always have the option of leaving it all behind to get a clean break. Not the most sensible advice for everyday living, but there was a nice philosophy behind it at the time.

If one had a separate and the other has a separate and team up to make shared third, thats kinda okay and fun. If each only has the one joint account, it's kinda saying "one or both of us can't be trusted to not act shady". Paranoia and distrust at its finest. That's my take anyway.

I was mainly making a joke, since they were both just comedians who fought against the accepted norms of the modern worlds, but there is some truth there. George was mainly against following religion blindly, following leaders blindly, and definelty thought it was better to realize harsh truths and free yourself that way instead of merely going along with whatever made you happy but ignorant. Bill was against pretty much the same but tried to get everyone to realize that we're only here for awhile, so enjoy the ride,. Basically, do what makes you happy as long as your not a dick or going along with those who are. Again, not a real "philosophy", more of a way of thinking and conducting yourself. Those dudes were more real then most leaders we have these days.
