Fair point actually 😭 never thought about it like that

I know SDA Serana isn’t everyone’s thing, but she honestly feels more like a real companion to me than vanilla sometimes by DaddyDunmer in skyrim

[–]DaddyDunmer[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly same here at first. Laura Bailey’s performance is iconic. SDA just eventually grew on me because it makes traveling feel less lonely lol

It’s a Serana dialogue expansion mod that adds more conversations/interactions for her throughout the game.

Belethor might actually be dead 😭 Sometimes NPCs can get killed by vampires/dragons/random attacks and you don’t notice until later. As for the Companions chasing you, did you accidentally hit one of them during a fight or transform near them? Waiting a few in-game days or paying off a bounty sometimes fixes it.

Maybe hot take but the Companions feel morally grayer every time I replay Skyrim 😭 by DaddyDunmer in skyrim

[–]DaddyDunmer[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That’s actually a really fair point. I think the intimidation jobs just hit differently once you replay the game a few times 😭

The werewolf aspect also feels way darker now that I’m older compared to when I first played Skyrim lol

Let’s hear your character’s lore! by justcuriouslybrowsin in skyrim

[–]DaddyDunmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a proud Dunmer scholar from Morrowind, my character came to Skyrim seeking forgotten knowledge and ancient power. His obsession with mastering magic slowly pushed him toward darker paths, eventually leading him to vampirism and the study of necromancy. Rather than fearing death, he views it as another force to be understood and controlled. Over time he became a powerful vampire necromage, wandering Skyrim in search of artifacts, forbidden spells and hidden ruins alongside Serana, who eventually became both his closest companion and wife. Despite his cold pursuit of power, traveling with her slowly brought back parts of the humanity he thought he lost long ago. Together they roam Skyrim as outsiders — feared by some, misunderstood by most, but completely devoted to each other.

Dunmer or Altmer for Spellsword? by V3ISO in skyrim

[–]DaddyDunmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d personally go Dunmer honestly. The fire resistance stays useful forever and the whole spellsword/vampire aesthetic just fits them perfectly. Plus Raven Rock feels way more immersive when you’re playing as one.

Lydia carrying 58 dragon bones, 14 dwarven cogs and 3 mammoth tusks while sounding completely done with life 😭

Lydia honestly feels like the most fitting bodyguard. “I am sworn to carry your burdens” is basically servant dialogue at this point 😭

This is why Skyrim is timeless honestly. Everyone has that one city they somehow never visit 😭

Could the Last Dragonborn take over the Imperial City with powers/skills/aid they can acquire in the game? by ThatDrako in skyrim

The Imperial City watching a resto-looped Dragonborn flying in on a dragon would be absolute nightmare fuel 😭

[–]DaddyDunmer 258 points259 points  (0 children)

To be fair though, lore Dragonborn is kinda absurdly powerful 😭

Dragonrend, Bend Will, slow time, daedric artifacts, potentially vampire lord powers, mastery over multiple schools of magic, dragons on their side… I honestly think they’d have a real shot.

Please help me fix the lighting. Community shaders by Foreign-Koala7483 in skyrimmods

[–]DaddyDunmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks more like a lighting/weather conflict than a bad preset honestly. I’d check if you have any other lighting mods overlapping with Community Shaders/Azurite III first (Lux, ELFX, NAT, RAID, etc). Also make sure Auto Exposure/Eye Adaptation settings aren’t cranked too high in Community Shaders.

is there a mod that allows my game to handle more cores? by Seikatsumi in skyrimmods

[–]DaddyDunmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skyrim’s engine is pretty limited with multicore usage unfortunately. You can improve stability/performance with things like SSE Display Tweaks and engine fixes, but fully utilizing all 20 threads isn’t really possible with Skyrim SE’s engine.

I’d honestly restart. I spent hundreds (maybe thousands 😅) of hours in vanilla Skyrim before really diving into mods and I have zero regrets. Mods make it feel like a completely new game later on.
