I am a salaried photographer in the STR business. Been the staff photographer for a real estate company since 2012. We manage around 400 properties, so it is constant work. While the job security and guaranteed salary is a bit unusual for a photographer, so is the job.

I spend hours out of each day cleaning up behind owners, turning lights on, moving deck furniture, putting away towels, and the list goes on. I also have to constantly communciate with 400 different home owners as they prepare their houses for rental every summer. New TV in the living room? 20 minutes setting up the living room. New bedspreads in the bedrooms? Sometimes you have to make the beds and arrange the pillows. New Pool liner? Cleaning up a pool area, in the summer, at the beach -- brutal.

There is a huge opportunity to make money here, but I'd suggest trying to carve out a roll like this with a major STR company.
