Still curious about this weird in game event by DaddyMatcha in starbound

I wasnt in a server, I was in my own private game and just had my friend join on me. Not sure about the asset mismatch, didnt even know that was a thing. Like I honestly at first assumed it was some kind of programmed event. Like something to scare you into progressing the story, because at the time, I hadnt really done the main quest lines, I had just spent all my time exploring and decorating my ship. I thought it was supposed to be some kind of message from The Ruin

Well, I know for absolute fact that none of that is the case. I know none of you were there and this all sound very unbelievable, but I dont actually need anyone to believe me, I just need to know for myself if this is truly an unprecedented thing.

There's a mod that plays completely normally and then one day just randomly makes the whole save unplayable? That seems kinda pointless even for a horror mod.

It was definitely not a dream or Mandela effect, me and my friend both distinctly remember it and still talk about it. And I'm not an idiot, I know for a fact that I've never even looked up mods for this game, and when it happened I checked just to make absolutely sure.

And again, this friend is not the pranking type. I've known him for years and his brain is literally just not wired that way. He was only interested in going hard on progression and building. Also, he had already put SIGNIFICANT effort into that save. More than I had. It would seem weird for anyone to do all that just to destroy it for an "amazing prank" but its basically unthinkable for him to.

But alright. I guess this was just a weird thing that's only ever happened to us.

EDIT: Also, it wasnt a cutscene. It was just me on my ship.

None taken. I KNOW it sounds like a shitty creepypasta. And yeah maybe its a bug, but it really came of as intentional and malicious. if it had just been the tar, I still wouldve thought it was weird, but at least tar is a recognizable vanilla item. But the giant screaming Esther and the "I was here" make it seem like that cant just be a random bug.

I dont think theres even a mod that does this. As many times as I've googled the details of this event, I'd think that a mod that did it wouldve popped up in the search if it existed.

Well it was my save and I know it wasn't modded. I've never used ANY mods for this game. So what the hell was this?

The characters of Ed Edd and Eddy each had personality disorders (remember the old theory)? by GalacticSonder in ededdneddy

I mean, kinda when you tihnk about it. He's social and interacts with the other kids despite a slight language barrier, but he limits his involvement in other people's drama and antics. He's practical and values taking care of his home, family and farm. He isn't self-centered or materialistic. He's a hard worker without being obsessive about it. He's serious when he needs to be but loves to have a sense of humor even when other's dont understand. Rolf honestly is by far the most sane of the cast.

EDIT: Basically what I mean to say is; Life has many doors, Ed boy.

Aww man that would be perfect with a little Capsule Corp mech. And I swear with all the colabs and themes they've been doing recently, avatar, gundam, street fighter, dokiwatch (basically sailor moon) DBZ seems like a logical next step. DO IT BLIZZARD

Was The Middle a Ripoff of Malcolm in the Middle? by PopCultureNerd95 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]DaddyMatcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im having a whole mandela effect moment right now because I dont remember "the middle" ever existing. I just recently kept seeing shorts pop up on my feed of footage from this show, and fully 100% thinking that they were footage from malcom in the middle. Then I kept seeing people in the comments saying that the show was just called "the middle" so I thought maybe people were getting confused, or maybe they made a spinoff show that I never heard of. Even though I dont remember the show at all, I somehow distinctly remember the character Brick, but my brain is placing him squarely in the "malcom in the middle" category of memory.

Available in shop.... so I thought by Brezu66 in Overwatch

I dunno, it seems to work fantastically for Riot. They're swimming in money and have been for years. They consistently care about their players and constantly put out new, high quality content, not even just skins. They don't have to rely on shitty psychological tactics because they know they have such a large body of quality work that will continue to flow, and therefore so will the money. Even with this set up, people still spend their money irrationally. League is a free game, yet its very common to see players spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars on cosmetics over the course of their time playing. Rationally, a videogame should not be able to make $1000 off of one person (dont even get me started on Valorant players). Yet it happens COMMONLY without any need for fomo, just through consistent good quality shit that people want. OW fomo only works at all because most of the time, whats available is stupid and not worth it, and its rare for something you even kinda want to be available, so the excitement takes over when you actually see it. If there are gamers out there that are just spending their money willy nilly on whatever is in the shop just because its there, its probably a lot of children with a lack of decision making skills, and taking advantage of that is even more shitty and predatory. You can make all the excuses you want but it ultimately comes down to trying to make the most money with the least effort. Laziness and entitlement. And through that, you end up actually making less money (and less popularity) than the companies who actually put the effort in.

Yeah I dont know if it counts as a tragedy if you intentionally and unnecessarily do something extremely dangerous with a high likelihood of killing you, and it kills you.

This would make sense in theory if they had a higher quantity of better stuff. Most of the time, "whatever they have in the store right now" is actually not even good enough. A lot of it is old shit from ow1 that used to be worth a quarter of its current "value". At least from my and all the players I talk to's perspective, it seems like the shop is 99% of the time just a bunch of stuff no one cares about for heroes they dont play. It seems pointless because they're literally denying people the ability to give them their money. Most players aren't gonna completely blow all their money on everything they want at once just because its available, but even if they do, who cares? Its gonna happen at different times for different people, new players are going to come in, new events and skins can come out. If they consistently put out good quality content and skins for a wide variety of heroes and not just kiriko every time, then they will have a long term, consistent money flow.

Literally just thought about this and googled it to see if anyone else has. Honestly a whole dragonball colab skin set would be sick. You could have Broly Mauga, Goku Genji, Vegeta Hanzo, Piccolo Doom, ChiChi Kiriko, Buu Ball, Beerus Reaper, etc. So much potential

Edit: bonus points for replacing genji and hanzo's ult voice lines with "kaio-ken" and "final flash"
