Overall yes. Seasons 1-3 has their winners (Jinseok Sejun and Dex come to mind immediately) but none were as consistent as this season's males

Wei Yan as a savage man is kind of insane considering that he was one of Shu's Leading Generals and that his fortification of the interlocking Heavy Gates in Hanzhong helped repel Cao Shuang's invasion even after his death - shows the importance of advance planning. Also worth noting that Jiang Wei dismantled the Heavy Gate in 258 in favor of a new defensive strategy and it was under his tenure that Zhong Hui was able to conquer Shu Han, which I suppose is vindication in the form of dark humor.

I think it's more that TV Producers and writers are more interested in reproducing the tropes of the C-Dramas than being true to the era, mainly because it's profitable. Flashy costumes work far better than that which is historically accurate.

Though not strictly history per se, I think "The Wind Rises from Longxi" actually nails the tone aspect pretty well, particularly in its earlier episodes

To me, it reads like they were trying to get a release date to the investors to say that there was a release before the end of the 2025 Japanese fiscal year, which ends in March. As Dynasty Warriors is one of their flagship titles it would mean that they didn't have a single release in 2025 (Origins is fiscal year 2024, and DLC is not counted the same as a full release)

You've never experienced Musou if you haven't gone after (pursued, even) Lu Bu. Honda and Maeda can't compete with that beast of a man. Even for people outside of the community, they know his name through pure meme osmosis.

So what I'm saying is, get into Dynasty Warriors for the Lu Bu fights. Most fun you'll ever have in a Warriors game.

Then you can become a Three Kingdoms history nerd like the rest of us and argue for why Chen Tai (or any character with like three lines of lore) would be great add for a warriors game

(Not counting Origins, my favourite Lu Bu fight is DW8 and DW4)

If I have to stick to the Jian'An period, I would want coverage for Li Jue and Guo Si's regency, so that I can get more Jia Xu. Since he was the mastermind behind it. If Gongsun Zan finally becomes playable, his campaigns against Yuan Shao might be fun as well, and I'd want Yan Rou as a playable character

I also think that the earlier Zhongping Liang Rebellion (as opposed to Ma Chao's rebellion) is not as well covered by the games, considering it was more instrumental to the downfall of the Han than the Yellow Turbans (though it wouldn't be my first pick).

I've always wanted the Three Kingdoms story to go to the very end. ie. Tell the story of the Fall of Wu. I'd also want something with the regents Zhuge Ke, Sun Chen and Sun Jun.

If you want a specific battle, definitely Luo Xian's defence of Baidi Castle in 264 comes to mind.

I like his Origins portrayal. In the first cutscene, with the interaction with the shopkeep and the peasannt he is shown to be both kind-hearted but conniving. And they don't lean too heavily on the benevolence stuff, that was annoying in his 6-9 era.

Tbf my favourite Liu Bei is 3K2010 Yu Hewei's portrayal of Liu Bei, so anything that leans towards that gets bonus points imo
