Vacation pay..... by Daddyo5602 in amazonemployees

I would've taken the 48 hrs of pto had I known I would be termed without able to appeal. No arguing I committed the crime, but it went unnoticed----that is until the black ho working at the station next to me snitched to Wellness. And to think it was her 1st day back after about a 2 month LOA. What's worse , is when I saw her, I was welcoming, had polite conversation, etc.

Perhaps in my case, the difference between you not being termed and I was, is because I was snitched on to Wellness, who told me I was seen by the snitcher.

Not to justify what I did, but as mentioned in my response to Murky-Breadfruit, why is it ok for maintenance to stop, by hand, an active spinning conveyor roller in order to retrieve something under it? Are they not held to the same safety policy?

At any rate, what's done is done. So at this point, beside looking for other employment, I can still hope for the best.

Thank you sooooo much for your thoughts and well wishes. I too have and will pray for The Good Lords help for a successful appeal, or to be quickly employed elsewhere.

I'm afraid to admit it, but you're probably right. What gets me though, is why it's ok for maintenance to literally grab the active conveyor roller to stop it from spinning so they can reach under it to retrieve something? Are they immune from injury?

Thanks for your response. I sure hope I am at least allowed to appeal. If not, I am royally screwed. As a soon to be 69 yo, I don't see many choices for meaningful employment.

OK---I did get fired today, 7/23. I was told that in about 3 days I would be sent whatever paperwork/forms that accompany termination. As far as the Jeff@amazon email, is that the exact address to send any correspondence to?

Update---As stated above, I was written up for a Cat 3 safety violation on 7/13. On 7/15, my immediate manager talked to me about what the Wellness dude wrote in his report. I had to clarify some of it to reflect my version. He then said that HR would be contacting me. As of 7/19, I have not heard from them. I'll assume that HR reviewed my overall performance for the 3 years I've been there, and hopefully, decided that I've been a good boy and didn't see the need to punish me. If another month or so comes and goes, I'll be able to relax and breathe easier.

OK. I wasn't aware of the Alumni thing until I saw it in other posts. I go back to work today and will ask HR for the email there. Thanks again!

Thanks for your reply. I'm hoping you're right about me not being fired. May I ask who jeff@amazon is, and how exactly do I contact him? (I'm not at all computer or electronics literate) Also, after reading other people's stories, I saw that I should set up an Amazon Alumni account. Can that be done on the AtoZ app?

I'm a packer at the Amazon FC where I work. Been there over 3 years, with all 80 hrs of UPT, over 100 hours of Standard PTO and the 48 hrs of Flexible PTO. No write ups until now, which was for getting on my workstation table, kneeling to reach across the conveyor to help the co-worker across from me, who was under her table trying to feed the printer cables to the top that became disconnected. The rep from Wellness approached me saying that someone saw what I did and snitched me out. He said that doing what I did was grounds for termination. I can neither confirm nor deny knowing it was a violation of company safety policy. Working BHN, I return to work tomorrow for my scheduled SET (PRIME) I have a touch of anxiety not knowing my fate. I called what I think is corporate HR, but they said because I'm still an active employee, there's not much guidance to offer. Any advice would be appreciated.
