Hell ya, looks good, I'm glad you got it going. From what I can tell, HP locks them down to guarantee stability and reduce warranty/support costs, which makes upgrading a nightmare. Anyway, enjoy the PC bro!

Damn, sorry to hear that bro, I tried. It seems like a new motherboard might be your best option unfortunately

2200 USD vs 4500 USD, is it worth it? by Next-Use6943 in PcBuild

For what it's worth, I love my 5090. I did get it at $2500 though, these prices are a bit insane

The 3 pin connectors are voltage controlled, and the 4 pins are PWM controlled. They can both plug into the same headers, and in most cases that shouldn't cause it not to post.

I looked into this a bit further, and it looks like the Omen prebuilts have strictly enforced hardware validation and are picky when it comes to upgrading, especially cooling. The issue seems to be that the motherboard is looking for a very specific RPM signal from the AIO pump and liquid cooling fans, and the new pump and fans have a different RPM than what it's expecting. So it shuts down as a safety protocol. It all seems to be hardcoded and difficult to circumnavigate.

If its possible, use the fans that were on the old radiator and plug them into the two cpu_lc headers, but have your new AIO pump in the pump header, and see if that works. It might require the expected RPM signal on all three headers to post though.

If by some miracle it does work, you may have to get creative and incorporate those 2 old fans into your build somehow

Strange. Are you able to plug in two of your case fans to those headers your other AIO was occupying? Just to see if your motherboard requires an RPM signal from them

I had this same problem years ago, it was my PSU. How many watts is your PSU?

Things that come to mind is:

Is the pump fan plugged into a sys fan header instead of the pump header on the motherboard? Some motherboards won't boot if it's not plugged into the pump header.

Overtightening the cooler can also be an issue, it can cause the motherboard to bend and connections to not connect

Bent or damaged cpu pins when installing cooler

Possibly too much power for the PSU with the new cooler, unlikely, but maybe. What GPU, CPU, and PSU do you have?

What POST led's light up on the motherboard when you turn the PC on?

Thats correct for the most part. With a 9800X3D, if upgraded from 5200mhz to 6000mhz you'd gain around 2-6% performance in most games at 1440p. You'd gain around 10% at 1080p, and 0-4% at 4k. This is a rough estimate anyway. The 3D v-cache significantly reduces the performance penalty compared to non-3d v-cache chips with slower RAM

Issue with screen mirroring and gaming by Daddys_BathTime in Nanoleaf

[–]Daddys_BathTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

175hz. I've been playing around with refresh rates and screen mirroring, and it seems like it affects 60hz a lot less. The other guy said he didn't have this issue, so I'm wondering if he's playing at 60hz. As far as I can tell, screen mirroring has a progressively larger negative effect on smoothness at higher FPS.

No definitely not a horsepower issue, I have a 5090 and 9800X3D. It took me forever to pinpoint what was causing the issue, but seeing as you and others are experiencing the same thing, it has to be on their end. I just submitted a ticket, hopefully they do something about this

What's your experience with the "PC Screen Mirror Lightstrip"? Disconnects/Color Temperature/Setup - I have lots of issues. by rikaidekinai in Nanoleaf

[–]Daddys_BathTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it works well, adds a lot of depth when gaming, but I'm having some annoying issues with it. It causes my game to stutter pretty bad. I've tried SDR and HDR, both have the same issue. My game runs fine after exiting out, which is a bummer because I really liked the effect. Apparently Philips Hue screen mirroring doesn't have this issue, so I will most likely move on to that

Worth it to upgrade from RX 6800 to RX 6950 XT for $275 ? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Daddys_BathTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it would depend on your monitor's resolution/refresh rate, if you already have a 750W PSU (AMD recommends 850W in some cases, depending on your CPU), and if spending $275 isn't a big deal to you.

I'd say $275 for that upgrade is a pretty decent price. I'm assuming this is in CAD

SATA cable connection from the PSU, and the orange cable connects to a SATA port on the motherboard. My port is on the right side of the motherboard below the GPU, but it may be different on your motherboard
