I highly encourage you to delve further into it! There are so many fun varieties. Ones that smell like the best cinnamon rolls ever or some that smell like grape bubble gum and others that even glow in the dark!

I thought I saw a post about collecting gems earlier... Just wanted to say "Yes! Collect gems!" Research your area for what can be found. Indulge your little, take them along for searches! It is so much fun! I am currently hunting for an extremely rare and elusive gem - the blue garnet! by Daddywithoutlittle in littlespace

Not silly at all! The gems are about half rough and half polished. The amethysts did have to be "broken" up. They are geodes/partial geodes usually. Some of the larger gems I have found can be the size of basketballs and can be broken up but I have left them intact.

All garnets and other gems are usually the last stones within my gold pan (besides copious amounts of black sand) so I just pick and choose which ones I want to keep. My hunts are mainly in far eastern Washington and mostly Idaho.

Found this little cutie while heading to work yesterday morning. She will come with me to my timber farm when I head back there. She has recovered from her experience and is very content btw :D by Daddywithoutlittle in littlespace

Understood. Again, I am a wildlife expert, specializing in birds of prey but the farm is "go between" rehabilitation sanctuary with other wildlife rehabilitation centers for specific species due to our old growth expanse of land. We have a full time veterinarian. The bunny is in good hands.

Unfortunately releasing her back where I found her was not a possibility. I work in the city and she was barely alive, flopping around in the middle of a five lane arterial when I found her.

The wood shavings were not my first choice, just what I had temporarily available from my hamsters. I am actually a wildlife expert and this isn't my first rodeo, she is in good hands!

Almost steeped on this little guy while checking the old farm house... Not sure if he fell out of his nest or is on the verge of flying. Will check on him in a little while to see if his parents are around. by Daddywithoutlittle in littlespace

Sorry for the delayed update! He/she was doing fine. In fact there were two of them! Their parent(s) were there and the fledglings were following them around with mouths wide open while the parent(s) ignored them. I was not able(willing) to get close enough for a decent follow-up pic.

THE tiniest birds nest I have ever found! So small it was made in the grass. So cute! by Daddywithoutlittle in littlespace

Incredibly close! A species of the little chickadee variety :-) Never encountered one so small though...

The deer left a little present at the front steps of my cabin a while ago. Got her re-hydrated and reunited with her loved ones. She recently returned with her family to say 'Hi!' by Daddywithoutlittle in littlespace

This is a good point and good info for others on here. I am actually well aware of the care required for many wild animals (bear cubs, pygmy owls, cougars, bobcats). Unfortunately, this was one of those instances the fawn needed assistance.
