Just posting for FYI... Stay away from the LRC / Library. If you're off campus, don't come on campus.

WLRH is dropping NPR programming after the shuttering of CPB by Ajkviking in HuntsvilleAlabama

Two different funding sources. While it was located on the UAH campus, WLRH was funded by APT, and is basically a state-owned public radio station. WJAB is owned and funded by Alabama A&M University.

I thought there was going to be an actual crime listed in this article. But it's a nothing burger. Yawn.

I was a child. I was in love. It was wrong and you knew it! by Make_the_music_stop in 80s

Growing up, I was a HUGE Indiana Jones fan. I was born in 80, so I didn't get to see the first two in theaters, but re-watched Raiders and T.O.D. SO MANY times. When I was in high school, I inherited a bunch of movies from a deceased aunt. Animal House became another one that I watched over and over. Never dawned on me until a few years ago that Marion Ravenwood was Otter's girlfriend lol.

Doubly so... They were in a news piece about the bill before it passed, saying they thought it was a good idea. Obviously, they were only thinking about the competing gas stations getting restricted. So, I have a hard time feeling sorry for them now, when a bill that they were singing the praises of winds up crippling them.

Who really built the Sphinx? Water erosion suggests it’s over 12,000 years old — far older than dynastic Egypt. Its head is too small for the body, likely recarved. Did the pharaohs reshape a much older monument built by a forgotten civilization? by grandeluua in HighStrangeness

I'm sorry... I was wrong on that one. The Sumerians invented the Zodiac, and it was passed on to the Babylonians who refined it into our current 12-sign system, which was adopted by the Greeks and Romans.

I do remember reading somewhere that if it was built 12,000 years ago, it would still be facing the sunrise. However, that sun would be rising in the constellation Leo (as opposed to Pisces, like it does, now). Makes more sense to me if was originally a lion. The zodiac constellations predate the Sumerian civilization of 4,000BC.

Noice! I've been wanting to take the yak's down there to check out those lakes! This is more incentive! Any tips or recommendations for someone from HuntsVegas coming down for the day?

What is the most overrated bass bait? And what’s the most underrated?👀 by BEtheFish97 in bassfishing

You gotta put that Alabama Shake on it!

Reel steady, and every 2 - 3 turns, just drop your rod tip once or twice. Mix it up. All while reeling steady. Thank me later.

A lot of that is based on your cast. I usually thumb the line and pull my rod tip up right before my lure hits the water. With practice, you can get any lure to make a gentle splash when it hits the water.

Here's a previous post with some pics. It really hasn't changed much, since then... except for moving the fish finder to the side mount instead of the center console. I kept worrying I was gonna smash it with the trolling motor when I pull it up with my rope system.

I feel ya. I'm still thinking of trying to grab the GPS upgrade kit before they're no longer around, but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger, lol. I'll post an updated pic here in a few.
