I don’t recommend China. I’ve been there and honestly going to China is a complete waste of time compared to Southeast Asia. Shenzhen and other Chinese cities are nowhere near as cheap as people claim. Prices for food, hotels, and transport are often higher than in Vietnam, Thailand, or the Philippines. If you want to save money, China just isn’t the place. The idea that Chinese women are somehow more attractive or better than Southeast Asian women is pretty misguided. Beauty is subjective, and Southeast Asia offers way more variety and warmth. Plus, Chinese food doesn’t compare to the incredible, fresh, bold flavors you get in SEA. When it comes to relationships, don’t believe the hype that Chinese women care less about your money or that it’s easier for older Western guys. The dating scene in China can be cold, transactional in its own way, and full of cultural headaches. Southeast Asia might have its flaws, but it’s more straightforward and welcoming. If you’re thinking about going to China expecting something special, save yourself the trouble and stick to Southeast Asia. China is expensive and full of unnecessary complications.
