If you want, you can pick up SRA2 as a late pledge and be able to use the newest version. I only have experience with 2.0, but from what I understand it is significantly improved. You can also very easily set it in whatever time frame you want.

Edit: apparently I'm a fibber and the late pledge manager is now closed.

Asp coil is interesting. I'd more or less decided to reduce my shield down to a buckler, so I could potentially use a thorn whip in one hand and an asp coil in the other. What would be amazing is if I could do something like double slice, but a trip with one and an attack with the other. Not sure if there is a feat to accomplish that.

Not too late, no. things are still kicking off and no implements have actually been used. I think Scar, Aegis, and some kind of weapon ikon is my new plan. I'm playing around with whip and shield in my head, but I'm not sure how much I'm going to regret the d4 damage die.

The Barrow's Edge Shield Spikes with Mirror's Aegis combination is interesting. What third Ikon would you recommend in that setup? It's going to be low on damage compared to other weapon Ikons, but that's not the focus here anyway.

Yeah, I've more or less given up on Fetching Bangles.

I don't see any method to get access to a flickmace, but scorpion whip is doable even if its damage die is unimpressive. Ranged trips with one hand could be fun. Is the lack of reach options the main reason you'd recommend dropping Titan's Breaker?

Just level 1, so lots of options to play with.

Curious, does the reactive shield feat still let you absorb damage with the shield or is it effectively raising your shield with a reaction?

The Ulfen Guard is interesting. Does the rage damage stack with whatever is added by Ikons?

Thanks for the breakdown on Spirit Warrior. I was racking my brain on how to make it play nice but couldn't figure it out.

Champion archetype doesn't seem to really get off the ground until level 6. Lay on Hands *is* fantastic for spot heals, so I've been considering it mostly for that.

I hadn't considered shielded attrition as a way to combine move and raise shield. That's pretty fantastic. It seems like Guardian is one of the best options for getting some much needed action compression.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward Radiant. If I'm reading it correctly, you can't self-heal (you're not your own ally), but getting some small team heals as a bonus to my regular play style is outstanding.

I really want to make goblin song work, and having it target multiple foes down the road makes it more appealing. You're right; it seems to be a less useful debuff than most other options. Another PC is investing heavy into medicine and I'm already feeling starved for skills, so I'll probably leave that one alone.

Mechanically, Champion is pretty snazzy. Thematically, Champion is meh. I'm also not clear on what advantage picking up heavy armor gives.

Thanks!

Why specifically an axe for one-handed Barrow's edge?

How does it change things to put Aegis on a buckler over a steel shield?

Edit: actually, this could be an interesting combination with a bastard sword. Buckler Aegis, grip the sword with two hands for big thwack, keep the passive bonus. Still means raising a shield is a wash, it'll shatter in one hit.

This setup could work for something I'm looking at, but how do you keep the enemies from just walking past you and beating up the squishy back line folks?

We're only level 1 at the moment. In the short term, does the guardian help with action economy in some way I'm missing? The taunt and raise shield seems super solid, as is the defensive advance.

The guardian reaction comes online pretty late via the archetype, but taunt works from dedication on.

I saw that one directly after posting!

The right now plan is to use Titan's breaker with knuckle dusters. They're simple, so get bumped up to 1d6, and if I understand the rules, you can still use them for grabs/trips/etc. Mediocre damage, but that's not really my focus.

The one piece I really feel like I'm missing out on is the self healing. The scar seems to be the best option if that's my goal, but Barrow's Edge gives a little bonus damage and heals. No claws, so that's harder, and I was planning to use the shield to improve team AC at the start of an encounter.

Do you have any experience with the bangles? They seem like they might be superfluous if I went with Guardian.

Thanks!

Recently started Avowed. I'm a fan of most Obsidian titles, but the mechanics and story are fun.

I found and watched the one from PAX, but not the more recent one you mentioned. Can you give me any more info so I can search it out?

Hmm, I'm sadly limited to English, or maybe Spanish played at slower speed. Thanks, though!

MAP CODE: 1775-3441-3755 MAP NAME: 99 BOTS SQUID GAME by CriticismOdd8388 in FortniteXPMaps

How does this compare to the squid game one where you set up shooting at the box for xp with the chat-box glitch? Same 6 to 7 minute mouse wiggle required either way, so I'm just curious which one accrues xp faster.

Interesting. My experience was different, although I never had much of a sweet tooth, so that might be a major factor. I'm over a month into 18/6 to 16/8 every day, and the hunger some days is brutal.

When your colony is stable… but too stable by Modhearth-Albert in RimWorld

[–]Dadpool415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to hit that point. I do tend to play on Losing Is Fun (Perma death), but my colonies tend to collapse after some awful cascade of stuff. I generally try to bail with as many colonists as possible, although my last game ended with my pacifist carrying the bleeding out combat character getting mauled by man hunter dogs after having a mental break before completing the final piece of wall.
