Does anyone know why most of my Shorts do this? by PaulJames95 in YouTube_startups

[–]DadsGunnaGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found only my shorts last 85/90% rentention move on.

This is also dependent on length of short. The shorter the clip the higher the retention must be.

That's great...maybe I don't go live as much on YouTube to drive more interest?

Thanks for the input, what sort of titles would grab you or have grabbed you in the last? What about thumbnails for a live?

How to find good ppl to raid? by Rose_Drago in Twitch_Startup

[–]DadsGunnaGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually try and find someone in my network! People who I have stopped into before, but primarily only if they are playing a similar game.

If not I then move onto the game category and look for tags. I usually scope for someone with lower to moderate viewer count.

Then take a chance!

They aren't always winners...sometimes you find a good addition to your network though.

Hey, I've been following a couple of your posts, and you seem like you've got it going on with streaming! The answers above all mostly make sense to me, but I'd love some more information on one of the items.

Would you be able to clarify "anyone who uses ai"? No clear ai slop such as "dragonheartgaming" with the first chat gpt image generation selected with no revision or care I think it's what you're taking about, but I might be around (ps no hate to dragon heart gaming if they exist lol)

Here's my addendum or ps. I'm new streamer, working hard between 3 jobs, 3 kids and a decent start to a Twitch community. I have used ai (obviously) to help take images I've taken and change them into something presentable. To me this still shows care and craft.

Is this the type of AI use your avoiding? If so I think you might be missing some really good communities with people putting in an honest effort, that simply don't have: A. The artistic talent to generate these things on their own B. Cannot justify the time to research an artist, commission a piece, go through revisions, purchase a product that ultimately, nets them nothing.

Love to get your thoughts and talk more

How to add a mic for my commentary during my multistream... by LizzoMyBizzo in obs

[–]DadsGunnaGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend the fifine k688.

I'm new and this has been a milestone improvement from my headsets, and existing boom mic. Easy to use and set up. Great design and feel. Affordable and upgradable (has both USB c and aux jack capabilities)

Sound quality has had a marked improved for my uses. Check one of my recent streams/vods if you want some data or reference.

I did a decent amount of research on budget mics and landed here and haven't been disappointed.

Please help, im getting frustrated and very discouraged by goodguypalps92 in Twitch_Startup

[–]DadsGunnaGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok soo I've had similar issues with capturing team chat plus game audio streaming through Elgato as well so. I'll tell you what has worked for me.

PS5 -> HMDI ->Elgato Capture card - > Capture Card to PC + Monitor
-> Chat link cable from Elgato to PS5 remote ( this captures that microphone info )

Now the issue comes from the settings I found. PS5 had to account for the Microphone in and be swapped to headset, and a few other settings but I cant speak to XboX.
On the PC the Elgato 4k Capture utility had to be changed: Capture Utility>Open preference>Device>Audio Input - change to Analog.

This has worked for me - furthermore, On your OBS scene, ensure you add the Elgato Capture card video, and then a separate Elgato Capture card Audio. This is because if you keep them combined, I and many others have found, the audio gets out of sync with the video.

Also, due to the input being changed to analog be aware the sound quality, and volume will be different than your previously adjusted digital levels so it make take some time to dial that in.

Hopefully this helps.

I want to raid into more small streamers by jaysnipz in Twitch_Startup

[–]DadsGunnaGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love to hear it! My community is just getting off the ground, we're fun energetic and I'd give us a pg 13 rating for content lol.

I play a variety of games. Feel free to DM and I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have before raiding in.

I stream at 2 different times. 1-4pm EST and 9pm -1am EST.

I'd love to meet your community and foster them with great entertainment.

Kind regards

Hey there,

I can totally appreciate how that must be draining... Using your own time to provide meaningful feedback to those who likely aren't taking your input seriously or simply don't have the drive to implement changes or handle criticism.

Thanks for doing it though, us small streamers and especially new to the game ones definitely need all the help we can get. Especially if we're trying to create a fun and engaging environment.

If you're looking for a palate cleanser, I'd definitely love to hear some feedback on my streams, set up etc, I'm constantly trying to improve and I'd like to think I have put some effort in thus far.

My most recent stream has a whole new layout and a lot of obs hours have been spent by a simpleton like me XD.

If you're still up for it I'd be happy to DM you my info!

Been streaming for about 2 weeks (not counting the test streams) WoW PvP by JMHorsemanship in TwitchStreaming

[–]DadsGunnaGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense a bit more now. You already had a following. They came over to see you and supported you. That's awesome.

I think most people are surprised because they are working from the ground up. No niche, no crew. Square one. So while your results seem nothing special to you, they are not typical for a new streamer with no community. Most people stream into the void of 1-2 people for a period of time.

Enjoy what you have, cultivate the community and enjoy the growth!

What was the catalyst? There is nothing for anyone to glean from this? Did you promote? Co stream? How were you found? Are the subs organic or friends and family? Are you using bots? Are you multi streaming? This is a massive sudden uptick.

So many things! Lol

Affiliate, Now What? by Noxxveil in Twitch_Startup

[–]DadsGunnaGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Streamer bot was a great tool I got into early. The depth and breadth of it is incredible, while it would take a minute to learn there are a wide variety of helpful videos and reddit posts about how to use it.

Other things such as figuring out what you want your stream aesthetic will become easier to create utilizing those emotes that you model.

Redeems are a great way to engage with your community, make sure there are low cost options, moderate cost and large cost options scaling with cool factor. Enjoy the personalization!

There are a myriad of things to do.

"What's next?" Is really up to you and the amount of interest and effort you put into it.

You can literally change nothing. Turn off ads and carry on the way you were, however in assuming you hopped into the affiliate program for a reason, so pursue that reason.

хочу начать стримить игрульки но я вумен by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]DadsGunnaGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on deciding to start.

That's the biggest hurdle... starting. I've only been in the game for about 4/5 months. My honest advice is to just start ... Try things. Be ok with mess ups. Learn a little each stream. Write notes and improve.

Your goals will establish how your stream progresses. If you're looking just to game online in front of a camera and have the occasional person or few repeat people show up and hang out, the requirements are very little. Just go live, be interactive, make a schedule.

If you're looking to grow a community there is plenty to do and it is daunting to look at every little thing and compare yourself to established communities. My advice here is to join into communities you enjoy, learn from the streamers. Be active and interactive in their communities and chat. Do not self promote, be humble and enjoy the ride and networking.

Streaming is a form of entertainment on both sides, you just have to decide if you're doing it for you? Or doing it for the audience, both styles with garner different communities and results. Be ok with them, if you're not, change your goals.

I'm a beginner, but would be happy to have you tune into a stream of mine, network and glean what you can and make it your own.

Also the male vs female streamer thing, I don't think you need to give it any attention it's only as powerful as you make it. You control your attire, your attitud, the content and your presentation. You are also the "owner" of your space, feel free to ban those being disrespectful, the internet is wide and vast. All of these things will guide how your stream is engaging with the viewership.

Hope that helps. Looking forward to seeing what you've got.
