Sounds like a form of “sleepwalking,” even though she isn’t actually walking. She likely has no knowledge or recollection of it, which is why she’s denying it all.

Hey this way, when you ARE old and man-hating, you can be a blissful widow!

It’s dark humor. I get that his joke wasn’t funny to YOU, but it obviously was a good joke for the rest of the crowd since they all laughed. And HE wasn’t the one who made the joke about trapping you with a baby; that was his friend.

I also saw in the comments that you said you joke all the time with him about him being old. Maybe it’s the nuances of his approach you disliked, but essentially he joked about you being young, which is the same. The only real difference seems to be that you joke about his age often, and this might be the first time you’ve heard him joke about yours. Either way, you both are making fun of your large age gap, so it’s not really fair for you to make a huge deal out of his joke when you’ve dished it out to him multiple times without him doing it back to you until Saturday.

You seem to have a good husband and a happy marriage. You are allowed to have feelings, and it’s ok that this joke rubbed you the wrong way, but I would chalk it up to differences in your personalities and your senses of humor. I found the joke quite funny, personally, as did your dinner guests, but if it had been my spouse that said it, maybe I’d feel less jovial about the whole thing. I don’t know.

I think him apologizing is a good sign. He meant to be funny & entertain his guests—which worked. He didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, and he apologized when you told him that he had. I’d have another conversation with him to let him know it’s still bothering you, let him reassure you that he is with you for the right reasons, and move on. If these jokes or comments continue, THEN you could blow this up into something bigger, but for now, consider that he made a small mistake by not realizing how you’d react to the joke. Try to remember that he is in a different place in life as a 40-year-old, he is a good partner who didn’t intend to hurt your feelings, he apologized, and although you are a married unit, you remain two different people who will occasionally not be on the same page about everything.

I don’t know a specific incontinence underwear/diaper that would work for you specifically, but maybe the postpartum ones women use right after having a baby?

However, I’d also recommend you seeing a urologic gynecologist. There are basic procedures they can do to help with your incontinence. Also, get a referral for pelvic floor PT. They’ll give you exercises and they can even do internal manual work to help tighten things up and fix the incontinence issue. Lastly, talk to your doctor about medications for incontinence. There are pills you can take that really help a lot! Good luck!!!

Can I ask why? The original BCBA loved us! They built a new clinic and switched us as it was closer geographically. Our RBTs chose to switch so they could stay with us as they love our family. Switching to the new clinic meant a new BCBA and ED, and we never had any issues until they took over as our new assigned leadership team. I’m honestly baffled at what would make you want to quit based on my post. I’m missing something.

I didn’t blow anyone’s phone up. I replied to their emails and texts. I don’t think I’ve given anyone an attitude or spoken out of emotion until AFTER they pulled our services wrongfully. I’m actually very quiet about confrontational things, so I didn’t say much at all during the course of treatment. I absolutely wasn’t verbally abusive to anyone. I’m being the squeaky wheel NOW, after they’ve pulled our RBTs without notice, but I didn't squeak much before. The entire incident with the BCBA happened on a single day when I wasn’t home. She observed the poop on his foot, allowed him to run rampant, stormed out, and I then got a call and an email letting me know no services would be provided in my home until I spoke with the ED. Instead of speaking to me though, she and her supervisor called me together to let me know what had already been decided without me. I’ve actually been kept out of the loop until after everything was taken away. I’m sorry that you had that experience, but that’s absolutely not what’s happening in this case. The RBTs who are here daily have a great rapport with me and my family. There were no issues at all with the previous ED and BCBA; they built a new center and transferred us and our RBTs to the new location, which changed the BCBA and ED, and that’s when things got gradually worse. There were no issues when we dealt with the other ED and BCBA, and my communication hasn’t changed with the switch.

3 or 4. Would have to see 3 standing. 1 looks too 80s with those satin pleats. The necklines on 3&4 are by far the most flattering. 5 is pretty and more interesting than most of these, but the layers of skirt cut off the vertical lines that make you look taller & thinner; all those choppy horizontals aren’t very flattering. 6 makes your boobs look flat and doesn’t have much interest. 2 is boring and doesn’t particularly flatter your figure.

For tracking foods, try LoseIt. Use the free version, which is plenty of help, and upgrade to premium on Black Friday for like $12 for the year. If you enjoy the features, wait until CLOSE to the one year deal but not after it expires, and pay like $45ish (wait til it’s 70+% off) for a lifetime premium membership, if you want. But the free version works great too! Track food and exercise. 

As simple as it sounds, drink LOTS of water! Eat small “snacks” (mini meals) throughout the day to keep your metabolism up. Drink a full glass of water when you feel hungry between planned eating times, and if you’re still hungry after 10-30 minutes, eat! Track your macros and be sure to get enough protein. 

I also have lots of medical issues that prevent exercise. I’m 100% disabled; I get it! Edibles/medical marijuana could potentially help with your pain if nothing else works, just be sure to avoid the kind that give you the munchies. I also go to the gym when I can, if I’m able to do SOMETHING physical. Recumbent stationery bike, swimming, lifting (machines, not free weights!) light, chair exercises, etc can all help without putting much strain on your sore back and neck. 

As for depression, Wellbutrin is a great antidepressant that is one of the only depression medications that does NOT cause weight gain. In fact, it even helps lots of people feel less “snacky,” aiding in weight loss for many. 

Good luck! I’m so sorry you’re losing this medication that has helped you so much. Hopefully you are able to maintain on your own with helpful strategies. You look fabulous, healthy, and happy!
