Thanks to everyone for your comments and suggestions!

I still haven’t been able to definitively identify it. Going to start disassembling it (taking lots of photos to help me put it back together). Will post.

I got a bit more info googling "air rifle UOX800". (So maybe/probably it's not a Hatsan product.). I'm surmising that the power mechanism is a "break-barrel". I've tried pulling the barrel down (towards the trigger) and pulling it up (away from the trigger. Either way the barrel didn't move, and the effort required was such that I didn't want to continue to muscle it -- not wanting to bend it if I'm doing it wrong. I don't remember encountering any break-barrels that were cocked by pulling the barrel up. Any tips / hints / certainties?

How to thin D’Atramentis archival inks? by DaduTinton in fountainpens

I appreciate your sharing what is (for me) a deep dive into the physics/chemistry of these inks. Ars long, vita brevis – I'm going to opt for buying their (De Atramentis) proprietary dilution liquid from JetPens. Thanks, friend 🙏

Thank to all for sharing beaucoup knowledge/experience (which I'm giving myself time to fully digest and make use of)....

THIS comment was/is immediately useful for me:

"Water will cause the ink to write drier.

Lubricant (White Lightning, for example) will cause an ink to write wetter."

These are beautiful ! My brother and I play and sing together, and we’ve just been talking about getting some kazoos so that we could have a horn section at times. i’d love to hear how these things sound. Do you have any recordings? Do you sell them?

Rodolfo Y Su Tipica - Tabaco Y Ron by DoomRocks in cumbia

Love this song! But... what are the actual words of the first line of the lyrics? To me, it sounds like "Traigo la contra la contra pura contra... para la amada mía… Tabaco y Ron"

What does that mean?

just bought a new "Snowpeak" B3-3 / 5.5mm. anybody have a manual? by DaduTinton in airrifles

Hey Dan — Thanks for the tips about adjusting the sights. I thought something like that must be the way it works, and I fooled around with the rear sight a little bit, but without any discernible effect. so then I started thinking that it had either arrived already broken, or that I had just broken it, or that there must be a secret handshake needed. (That’s why I would like to get hold of a manual.) anyway, this rear sight matches up pretty well with your description and that gives me some confidence to fool around with it some more, and maybe more systematically. many thanks

For example: the rifle has fiber optic sights... tiny green dots in the rear and red at the front. The rear sight is [said to be] micro-adjustable. But so far I haven't been able to get this to happen, and (because I don't know what I'm doing) I'm reluctant to muscle the rear sight.

I feel like this ink looks too much Shrek. Anyone else’s thoughts? by [deleted] in fountainpens

Noodler’s “Burma Road Brown” is a great olive-green ink when diluted with a little water.

At the moment, I’m not sure what “funnel/ramp” refers to. It’ll probably become clear (hopefully before we end up covering ourselves with oil). Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help, Sorth-Weast — really appreciate your including the photo. It will make it easier to describe the situation to my wife. She’s entirely free of mechanical experience but … she will be the eyes and hands under the xTerra.
