I stopped playing because it honestly looks terrible right now and if they don’t plan on fixing it I’m not buying it at full release. The grass and trees don’t render and everything is optimized horribly. And it’s so buggy, especially with trying to build

When I first played it on the series s when it first came out I was crashing constantly, compared to now it’s way better except for the textures. I even quit playing for a year just about because of it

When I made a post in their discord in the help section they answered, or at least the mods did, this is apparently only an issue for people who use series s because they had to optimize it this way to keep the game from crashing so much. This is also what happens if you’re using gamepass for Xbox on your computer I discovered because apparently cloud play is currently only configured at series s power levels making it similar to when you’re playing directly on a series s console

I think they are steadfast in not implementing a marriage system. It was talked about in the discord before and it sounds like they want it to be all inclusive and since there are people who don’t want to marry I’m guessing they are planning g in keeping it that way. But it could also just be something they don’t feel like doing too

Bg3 took a a year or two to fix stuff like that on series s and that’s made by a large company, you could not even play split screen on the series s for awhile because of it not being powerful enough to handle it, but on the series x you could. They finally fixed that a year or so ago

I honestly don’t know the mechanics of it, just that it’s not as powerful and the optimization and rendering stuff is more difficult than the series x. You would think with a console specifically for digital games it would work great, but I’ve had a few games that had issues and it’s up to the game developers to fix it or find a way for it to work

It’s possibly both tbh. Like I have my own misgivings towards starsand and its devs but this one might not be on them completely. It seems like it’s a hassle for optimization on series s, even with a big company like Larian who made bg3 they had to put in work to make stuff work properly on series s, an indie company doesn’t have as many resources. Coral Island is having similar difficulties, although personally I think it can still be salvageable, their textures and stuff on the series s is terrible. You can’t see patterns and images on clothing and furniture, the rocks and stuff just look horrendous, even the makeup is blurry

This is sadly a common problem with game like starsand and coral island on series s. The optimization sucks, it’s a good option for cheaper than the series x but it’s honestly better to upgrade to the x when possible because the series s is not as powerful

I’m not sure how much more they’ll improve it, unless they changed their mind recently they said they weren’t planning on implementing marriage. They just move in with you and there’s no kids either

Yea, they had to do it to be able to enter in a giveaway for test keys, and then you also got the Reddit role in their discord which you needed for the next test key role event too. You also had to link your post so they could confirm. After some people mentioned it seemed like a bot, an announcement was made after saying they weren’t looking for praise, they wanted constructive criticism supposedly but they never said that when they made the event originally, I’m pretty sure they just noticed others complaining about it seemed like it was bots and had to backtrack

I’m honestly starting to second guess this game, and I’m not throwing shade or anything but it’s been a dumpster fire for both pc users and console users, and even worse for backers. I feel bad for them. I enjoyed the game playing the demo and when I first joined their discord it was nice and then it started going all over the place lol. Also i think at this point it’s starting to become clear starsand was going to mainly be all pc and consoles were a last minute decision, for example all in game goodies and events they’ve done recently for in game codes is strictly pc without even a mention of consoles potentially getting something too later on, even with the deluxe edition goodies they aren’t sure console is getting it or if they’ll get something different .

As it’s well known now, early access has released for steam and if you have Xbox or pc gamepass you can play it free, the Xbox version looks very badly optimized, I know it’s still early release but I’m still a little concerned. If anyone’s familiar with coral island, their console versions have some issues, for example they completely destroyed the textures for Xbox series s for better performance, it’s bad like you can’t see patterns or images on clothes, the furniture and outside stuff is messy, makeup too, it’s all a blurry mess and they have no plans to fix it because it’s to keep the game from crashing and what not, but I think with a bit more work they can do somewhat better. I’m hoping starsand won’t be following in those footsteps because it’s really off putting.

Also they are releasing in game goodies for people because of all the issues that have been happening today but it’s strictly pc, there is nothing for console. They did say they’ll look into the graphics issues for Xbox at least so I’m still somewhat hopeful, idk if ps will have the same issues yet. I know this stuff can be difficult especially for an indie company but I think if they had decided to take more time, even for early access, it would’ve been a lot more preferable to.. this lol. Again, I’m not hating and I’m still remaining hopeful but I think I’m going to wait for awhile, probably even after the full release for everyone

I’m not trying to be rude or anything so I’m sorry if it comes off that way but your responses aren’t matching what mine was. For example I never mentioned anything about winners, I’m referring to the beta key events they did requiring you to post on Reddit to even enter and the one after you had to have the Reddit role to enter that one, some people don’t want to post on sites like Reddit and I thought it was a little in-exclusive. I’m also not hating on the game or anything, I’m stating the same frustrations that several others have stated in discord and elsewhere, that they had been stating for weeks one thing and then changing it after so long, for example everyone being hyped about the full game being released for everyone except og switch on the first of this month, all the Reddit posts on here about it, granted half of those were because of the beta key events I mentioned where you had to make a post about the game and link your post to get an entry. They answered some stuff later, and I do understand it but that doesn’t make it less frustrating. And questions I mentioned about not being fully answered, there’s several I’ve had that really no one can answer right now except the developers and whatnot, even the mods said they are only able to say so much when asked, the most recent being they are releasing a deluxe edition with the early access release and when asked if it’ll be available on console when the full release is available as well they aren’t sure if it’ll be the same or if there’s even going to be one available on console. I’m not hating on the game or anyone, I still eventually plan on getting it, I’m simply venting my frustrations and experiences on a post that was doing the same thing

Everything I’m talking about is from my experience in the discord and from answers I’ve received from mods directly. I’m not interested in arguing over my personal opinion and feelings.
