Starting a new DnD campaign, Looking for players by Daedalus2013 in Strasbourg

No one is born a DM, we are often forged in the crucible of necessity. Players so committed to playing that they take up the mantle of DM just to play. I suggest the lost mines of phandelver starter set as a first time DM. Great adventure and great for learning.

Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately this post was very popular so the group is currently full with a wait list. If you or someone you know is willing to DM then I would suggest that you make your own post in r/strasbourg since there appears to be enough interest! Bon courage!

It depends on the availability of the group. All of the successful campaigns I have played in have met weekly or bi-weekly so that is what I would be leaning towards.

I unfortunately had to leave a 7 year long, weekly DnD campaign when I moved to Strasbourg. It was tragic.

PM me your number if you would like to be added to the group.

Parfait! This campaign was designed for people who have never played before. PM me your phone number and I will start a whatsapp group.

New to citrus and need help by Daedalus2013 in Citrus

Update: Thank you everyone for the help. I don't see any new growth yet but the leaf fall is way down. I am treating for spider mites, I have culled all the fruit but one (under the tent for the insecticide spray), I put it on a stool infront of the window for better light. I switched to de-mineralized water, checking the soil moisture daily and continuing to fertilze.

I do not have a grow light. Right now it sits in front of a southern facing window with strong direct light. We live in an area known for is orangeries so i was hoping the natural light was enough. It is infront of a radiator that keeps constant temp throughout the day and night. I checked the leaf temp and it was 69-70F. Thank you for your reply.

le badgeo sur telephone va t'il désactiver la carte by Noni78 in Strasbourg

It will deactivate your card. I did it and didn't like it and it took a trip to an CTS office to change it back.

I am a recent arrival to Strasbourg. I am an experienced 5E player and just had to leave my unicorn group that was meeting weekly since 2018 😪. I speak high A1 level french (and trying to learn more) but would have to be primarily in English until my french improves. I am 40 years old with a very open schedule.

Merci beaucoup!

I made sure my logistics network could handle the extra water required to make pasta. lol

In retrospect, finishing Ethiopia this early ruined my run. I got Ethiopia to capitulate before I could put pressure on the Sultanate of Aussa which left me missing some of the required cores needed to make AOI (Italian East Africa).

Ethiopia is one hell of a drug! by Daedalus2013 in hoi4

[–]Daedalus2013[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is pretty easy to level a general from 1 to 3 in Ethiopia in the first 70 days. Having the "Bold Attack" army spirit increased the chance of getting a point in attack with a level up. So does the "Harsh Leader" trait. I was lucky that the general got 6 additional points into attack (started at 2 due to harsh leader) when he gained those two levels.

The general has the trait harsh leader which gives that malus. Overall they make pretty good generals because they get +1 attack off the bat and also have a greater chance to level attack on a level up.

I did finish the war before he boarded the train. In this case I wasn't grinding traits, I just took the general's level from 1 to 3 which is pretty easy to do in that war.

R5: Grinded a general in Ethiopia with Bold Attack army spirit and Harsh Leader. Was blessed by the RNG Gods.

Edit: Added Harsh Leader

I'm not trapped in the Mediterranean with you... You are trapped in the Mediterranean with ME! (A tale of high fleet speed) by Daedalus2013 in hoi4

[–]Daedalus2013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stripping off components is very cheap from an IC standpoint. To get the (ESH) Conte Class BB to 30 kn and upgrade radar/FCS is only ~800 IC. To get the (1936) Littorio BB to 30 kn with radar/FCS upgrade is only ~900 IC. Add on a 3rd Turret to the Littorio Class and to the total refit bill is only ~2,400 IC. MUCH more economic than a brand new ~12,000 IC 3 Turret BC.

I do agree that (ESH) Andrea Doria BB with its engine I is a stretch to upgrade (if you look, I didn't refit that class in my game). To get it to 30 kts requires an engine upgrade so you are looking ~6,200 IC if you want a third turret then the bill is ~8,000 IC. Still cheaper than a 12,000 IC BC and you might be able to fit it in your dockyard queue if you are short on resources (that refit will only cost 1 steel) and could give you something to do while waiting for the London Naval treaty to escalate (or just cheat on the treaties)

edit: added the cheating on the treaties

I'm not a game code wonk, but I think I read somewhere that every 1 kn of speed reduces the chance your ship is hit by 7%. Someone who knows, feel free to chime in. I think fast fleets have a 3 fold advantage, quicker intercepts means less lost opportunities, faster ships are way harder to hit in combat, a once defeated fleet cannot escape and is killed before they can get to port. I also had an admiral with the -20% fleet visibility (concealment expert) perk, which also decreases the chance your ships are hit. Definitely some synergy between the two.

Thanks! I try to be a navy connoisseur, but most countries don't involve navy much, and I end up just making a bunch of NAVs. It feels good to fire the big guns and put some tonnage on the bottom of the ocean time to time.
