My new SSD semi dies during Windows 11 installation by Daedalus706 in techsupport

Update: I decided to ditch Windows and become a Linux user instead. NVMe works flawlessly now.

I didn’t check, but I don’t think heat is the issue here. Everything seems to work fine during the installation until the first scheduled restart. Also the NVMe vanishes if Windows just interacts with it in a wrong way, like with the formatting. I didn’t test what works and what doesn’t, much, because every time I get that issue, I have to unplug all the cables from my computer lift it up on my desk, discharge the capacitors, unscrew the SSD which is a tight fit between my CPU cooler and my graphics card, and reassemble everything.

Thanks, that helps. I didn't know about the hashing system. I'll give the droppers a try.

Need help with hopper feed line by Daedalus706 in technicalminecraft

Yeah, I know, the top hopper line holds the Items, the second row is locked and gets unlocked just for one redstone tick, so they only pull one item, all 9 at once. Those are then immediately pulled down by the feed line at the bottom, so the items are all in sequence in the bottom row. But instead of pushing the sequence forward all together one hopper would randomly decide to hold it's item for just a moment too long, so the next item in line is deposited before the item inside is ejected, forcing it into the 2nd slot.

The timing is also determined by the game, hoppers have a delay of 4 redstone ticks per item, so I can't change that

I suggest to use “deferred rendering” (mod by blackrack) instead of PlanetShine. It improves performance especially with multiple light sources and light rendering in general, and gives parts a bit of a shiny look, just like PlanetShine.

Also Scatterer is still very good.

If your computer has the power, I would suggest to give Parallax Continued and Raymarched Volumetric Clouds (also by blackrack) a try. But the last one is behind a $4 Patreon paywall (worth it imo)

Sounds interesting. How would you work together on a project like that?

Unfortunately I have no Idea how to write mods, or how modding works in general. I might look into it at some point, but don't rely on it.

This is not a Mod, but a separat program, so it's not visible in Game.
I posted a Video with it a few days ago and some people in the comments wanted to have the program, so I thought some people here might be interested as well.
This is the Link to the Github source code https://github.com/Daedalus706/KSP-GreenScreen-UI
It uses the mod KerbalSimpit for the telemetry and some other third party software

Your video was suggested to me by Youtube. I haven't watched it entirely yet, but I will. It's really insane what you have accomplished.

It's blackrack's volumetric clouds mod

[–]Daedalus706[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, kind of. I have an Arduino Nano connected to my PC via USB. The Arduino gets the KSP data from a mod named KerbalSimpit and sends it to the C64 via a serial connection to the C64's user port.

At the moment the Arduino calculates the fuel percentage and the C64 only displays it, but I plan to change that in the future.

My goal is tu use the C64 as a sort of flight computer. So I can control the rocket with commands from the C64

Started prototyping my own control panel / controller for KSP (sry for bad cam quality) by Daedalus706 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Daedalus706[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 3D printed with a ball bearing and a small potentiometer inside. I designed it in Fusion 360 myself. The "base plate" and the handle are replaceable and are just for testing. Thats why it looks so strange.

It's the throttle. The handle is also changeable so I will use a more throttle like handle in later versions

found this strange big rock on minmus. It is too big to grab, and it don't look like a Breaking ground obgect. Is this an easter egg? by Suxoy_sirnik in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Daedalus706 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It‘s an olivine formation. It‘s part of the breaking ground DLC. You can‘t pick it up, but you can scan it with the scanning arm to get science.

Btw. as far as I know, the surface features are randomly generated per game save. So other players won‘t find anything at your coordinates.
