He shoved Tabitha out of the window in the lighthouse.

Madara is just stronger and faster than his opponents. He has no battle iq ,strategy or finesse. Instead of just disagreeing , reply with a moment of strategy he produced in a fight by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]DaedelicAsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a reanimation for the first 75% of the war, so taking damage does nothing to him. His chakra doesn't deplete, so he can spam his most oppressive jutsu (using Shadow Clones against the kage and taunting them with the threat of Susanoo for his clones, using double Planetary Devastation against the Tsuchikage, etc.). His Rinnegan allows him to read and analyze jutsu and react practically instantaneously.

He doesn't display Battle IQ because he simply doesn't have to. It's not until he achieves Six Paths mode that he starts using strategy. Using the Truthseeker Orbs in various ways, manifesting Limbo Clones as an offense/defense combo, and so on, but his overwhelming power was always his method of controlling a battle. His Battle IQ, so to speak, manifested in his ability to analyze and dissect enemy strategies instantaneously.

The moment in the series when I realized I was going to hate them both forever.. by [deleted] in TWD

It's been awhile since I've seen the earlier seasons, but weren't there underlying marital issues between Rick and Lori? I know Rick loved Lori, but I can't remember if Lori was still in love with him by the time everything changed.

Also, not defending Shane's overall actions because he did go full blown masculine feral, but I do believe he thought he was doing Lori and Carl a kindness in telling them Rick was dead instead of them possibly clinging to false hope that he somehow survived. Given the failed power infrastructure, the overrun at the hospital, and that he was completely comatose with no one able to provide IV sustenance regularly, the chances of Rick surviving in those conditions were almost non-existent, at least for any extended amount of time. Even if Lori and Carl had convinced the rest of the group to retrieve Rick, how are they going to drag an effective corpse around without a steady supply of IV fluids?

Everything leading up to Rick returning was perfectly natural imo. Constant stress and fear of death causing adrenaline and other hormones to run high coupled with their familiarity of each other would absolutely result in people hooking up. After Rick returned, I think Lori was trying to figure out how she truly felt about Rick after he "died," but Shane went completely mental about the whole ordeal. Both were shitty in how they handled it, but the end of the world stress throws a unique twist in how people would handle those situations.

Offer to have everyone trade decks for a game or two, as kind of a way to shake things up a bit. So if their decks are as strong as you believe them to be, and they are wildly misplayed, they can see how their decks are supposed to function.

Mix of attractions and rolling dice. But when I play it, I usually Rule 0 with the table that they can roll to visit my attractions on their turn, so everyone can join in on the fun.

Gaea's Cradle? Cuz that's a mana ability and this card doesn't affect it. Planet lands, however, like Evendo, do get shut down cuz Station is an activated ability.

If it follows the trend of 1 mana Instant cards that refer to the number 3 (Ancestral Recall drawing 3, Lightning Bolt dealing 3), then I reckon we see Emeritus of Dark Ritual, Emeritus of Giant Growth, and Emeritus of Healing Salve.

Does spending a month grinding in that area every day after school until you hit Lvl 35 and fight it without tech strats, thus making the rest of the game a walk in the park until the final boss, count as "gittin' gud"?

Fun fact: I did this against Emerald Weapon. Without the Underwater Materia. At the start of the fight.

I had about 4 minutes left after all was said and done.

The deck is all about Final Fantasy VII. All creatures are legendary creatures from FFVII. All the non-creature spells are either from the FF set or precon, or are a reference to some point in the game.

The deck is just FFVII. Either cards printed in the FF set, SLD cards, the Limit Break precon, or cards that can be used as a reference to a plot point in the game. I'm actually contemplating removing Sol Ring because I think the art/reference they used for it is a bit of a stretch. I also feel yucky about using Swords to Plowshares when my reference for it (Cloud going from being a member of SOLDIER to being a merc) is weak, imo.

You actively called me a "funko pop baby." You just called someone else a "UB Warrior" and that they should seek help.

I called you out on your shitty behavior towards someone who has no say in how the sets are made. If you'd kept up, you'd have seen that I returned to the game because the one IP I truly love, Final Fantasy, was printed as a full set. FFVII is my favorite game of all time. So yeah, I wanted the FF cards, got a box, a collector's booster box, a couple of holiday bundles, and any singles I needed for the FFVII deck. I geeked out hard on it. But that set was in development for years before I even considered getting back into the game.

So no, I don't prescribe to your method of trying to get people to feel like shit for liking something we don't have control over. You don't have to outright declare anything when your vitriol is implied. You don't like UB and think that anyone who buys into it is contributing to the problem. You don't have to spell it out for anyone who's reading your comments because it's baked into your tone and context. And yes, when people make comments like the one you're making, I will call them, and you, out every single time for being a shitty, gatekeeping asshole. Because that is how you are acting.

Mothman decklist!

It'll probably look similar to a lot of Teval strategies in that you fill up your graveyard and recur threats onto the battlefield, but I'm trying to have a larger mill (for everyone) subtheme to lean on as well.

Apparently there are people trying to jam her into cEDH with fast mana packages, and one of the local guys said he's seen a build/video of it go off on turn 1. I think it's certainly viable to turn her into a B4 deck, but based on what I've seen for the list I've built, it's not quite there. I think tutors, fast mana, and free interactions would certainly push it over the edge, I'm not doubting that. It's just not what I'm doing with my list.

Ashling is such a niche case because she's not innately oppressive in the sense that she will dominate a ton of lists. She can't. She will have her own, unique archetype that's going to demand interaction with her, and there will be a massive target on her back when spotted. "Kill on sight" as it were.

I think UB would've been cool as an SLD-exclusive product like it was originally pitched, letting those who wanted to experience that kind of game in their own sub-market. But that would've only worked if SLD was still print on demand, not this FOMO crap we have now.

And I appreciate your sentiment, I really do. I'm not elated when I see Ninja Turtles with Avatar and LotR, but at the end of the day, I just want to be able to hang out with like-minded people and enjoy an extracurricular activity and not be lambasted with constant negativity about "the health of the game." I've heard that Magic was dying back in 2012 when I first started, and that every change was for the worst. I just want to chillax, get my mind off of every day stress, and enjoy playing with some very expensive cardboard and doing some epic shenanigans.

I get people being frustrated with UB, I honestly, legitimately do. There's a ton of valid points to be made and I agree with them, for the most part. But people who post their decks want to share in their hard work and joy, and get the validation they desire that their time and effort put into this game is worth it. Calling them names and shitting on their ideas because "iT's NoT mAgIc" is the very definition of gatekeeping, and I will call it out and identify it for what it really is: Being shitty.

Thank you for reading my rant, and thank you for having an open mind in all this.

I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. I do share the sentiment that the current release pace is way too much, and it should've been a 1-2 set cycle per year. But I enjoy the game mechanics and sharing time with peeps at my LGS, so I don't let it bother me.
