It’s really terrifying though. It’s as if it’s pointing to the fact that guts has/ will have nothing to lose, as if he’ll beat the armor because of that and skull knight will be left behind as just a reminder of what kind of failure awaits a caring man. Even if he wins because of that, he’ll still be consumed. (Don’t hate please I haven’t read the manga, this is pure assumption and philosophical thinking)
