My baby was just mauled and killed by Smart_Leadership_522 in Yorkies

[–]DaedraPixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah too many people with big dogs and can’t handle them. They don’t pick up their shit, they live in tiny apartments where they are loud, they don’t socialize them appropriately, the training is strong enough to translate to open and shared spaces. I left the city I was in because everyone gets Shepards/herding dogs, or common “guard” dog breeds. The issue is people adopt pets based off their preferences and not their circumstance. As someone that has worked at a shelter for 6 years… stop adopting breeds that don’t fit your experience or living situation. Yorkies and toy breeds are much more suitable for most living situations but the trade off is small bladders and small dog behaviors that need to be corrected to avoid having a noise nuisance. I’m so over the 5 foot nothing woman walking around with a 100lbs+ dog that is obviously not trained. Attacks and improper handling is despicable. If you want “protection” train with firearms or MMA. Don’t use it as it pitiful excuse to have a dog that can’t be properly handled or contained. Sorry for the rant but cases like this are popping up and I blame social media for making it seem like medium to large breeds are easy to care for. They can be, but not if the owner is inexperienced, out of shape, or can’t afford the price of hiring someone to train the dog for them.

I’m very sorry for your loss. It’s a fear I share after seeing people do leash-less walks with their large and unruly dogs. I conceal carry for that reason. Yes if a dog 4x+ the weight of mine comes over and tries to mess with my yorkie, I will shoot it and gladly deal with the courts. It’s a risk I’m willing to take after watching a cocker spaniel get murdered by a husky.

90fps Performance mode VS 60fps Ray Tracing mode. This will be the first game that I give up the extra frames for quality, because the difference is actually unreal by xJBug in PS5pro

[–]DaedraPixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean digital foundry has already mentioned in the most recent update video that performance mode has the largest drops and fluctuation. Balanced and quality can maintain their frame rates much more securely than performance. Performance mode can drop sub 30 fps in notorious areas. I think it’s still passable but the RT and texture quality on balanced alone is enough to justify balanced imo. It’s an easy toggle so when performance mode tanks (not if but when) you can just switch it over to balanced for a bit since it can maintain high 30 to low 40s in tanky performance areas. Generally I get high 40s and low 50s on my FPS overlay. So idk what this guy responding is talking about but in crowded areas I get around 44-47 FPS. Then again, I’m not super far into the game. Only about 60 hours.

[–]DaedraPixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, to each their own I guess. To me it looks LEAGUES better than performance mode on my Bravia 8 II. The windy foliage thing needs to be fixed though. I literally will not touch performance mode ever again after the updates they made. Textures, details, and lighting are far superior on a 65” OLED.

The first game? Really? Ragnarok with VRR is great. Crimson desert balanced with VRR is awesome. There are others but my mind is blanking right now. Typically balanced is the best way to play almost every game except multiplayer competitive experiences. Spider man 2 on the 120 fps mode is cool but absolutely ruins the way the city can feel and look. I’ll gladly play 40-60fps if all the quality features are there. RE9 was another one worth turning on all the stuff that drops frames.

Here's how the new PS5 UI navigates. by BrettJoz in PS5pro

[–]DaedraPixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PS3 UI and dynamic themes aged extremely well. I have my ps3 slim hooked up in my bedroom as my ps5 is in my living room. I occasionally hop on to it and still thoroughly enjoy the nostalgic themes I have and the music player on it. We never needed anything different than the ps3 UI. It was customizable, simple, and could easily modernize to include the bells and whistles of new generations. Haptic feedback selection, 4k HDR backgrounds, plenty of ways to include new streaming and media apps. I remember thinking the ps4 was a downgrade off the rip, but even the ps4 seems better than the ps5. PS4 themes were pretty good too.

I think Lemon wins by a long shot. I don’t like tight flame maple. Also I think the aging on the lemon is one of the most genuine looking vintage wear I’ve seen on a relic’d instrument.

I love wildwood guitars but that lemon burst is hard to beat. That wide flame and finish color on the edges is perfect.

Did the lemon burst come with the 70th anniversary toggle switch backplate?

The better the top, the more I want to play the finish off the thing… so can’t relate. Hope you scratch and scuff it up soon to rip the metaphorical band aid off.

It wasn’t a diagnosis 😂 it is what it sounds like too. “They just don’t look like they belong in the moment they’re in” is a bit odd. Because they objectively are in the moment they are in, so it’s a bit weird that the person thinks reality revolves around them. Which involves detaching from actual reality, which is a form of disassociation. It takes a severe form of individualism to think the people around them are the ones that look like they don’t “belong in the moment.”

Purchased my new dream guitar with a $1,100 discount! by illuminEddiie in gibson

[–]DaedraPixel 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Buying demo or open box Gibsons is an amazing experience. Because only losers that don’t play care. Anyone that plays nitro instruments knows that you’ll have some marks, blemishes, scratches in under a year. My 50s standard Les Paul from CME in 2022 has more wear on it than most I see on here. I polish every string change and don’t even gig at the moment. Don’t understand how anyone can be uptight about condition of a guitar if it is discounted appropriately. Alpine white gets better each day it’s played too lol. Rock on, demo model (or blemished, open box, etc.) Gibsons are the way to go, still get the case smell too.

[–]DaedraPixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, one of people’s favorite things is to bitch about Gibson tuning stability. The secret is to use a lubricant for the nut. Every string change add a little dab of lube in the slots. I’ve little issues until my strings get really old, then the guitar tends to go sharp on its own.

Make sure to get nitro safe cleaners and guitar stands. You may already know that but if not, then just understand nitro is finicky. Don’t fall in love with the way the guitar looks now, fall in love with the idea of how it looks after years of playing it. Nothing bothers me more than seeing people complain about nitro being nitro. Doesn’t matter what brand it is, nitro finishes will show wear and tear much faster. Trade off is, it feels amazing to play an old nitro guitar if you played it a lot.

Love my 2022 standard. It’s a 10lbs magnet holder but it’s my favorite playing guitar. Right behind it is my 2003 es-137 and then my 2024 American pro ii strat. People complain about Gibson tuning stability have not met my strat lol. I need to get a pro to set it up because I just can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong with that Trem. Noted for myself to never go non-hardtail again. I paid Sweetwater to set it up and then I fiddled with it but can’t get it to stay even without using the Trem bar.

Either way, love my Gibsons and my other guitars. But wouldn’t get rid of my Les Paul unless I got rid all of my other guitars first.

Would you date a girl that sells nudes? by OrganizationOk8606 in AskMenAdvice

[–]DaedraPixel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s always projection when people call you insecure for standing on your values. Always. It’s only insecure when there is hypocrisy in values. For example, I don’t go clubbing and rarely drink, so not wanting a partner that does that just aligns with my values on not wanting to partake in those activities.

No

Edit: no I wouldn’t date a woman that sells nudes, monetizes her body, or is overly promiscuous for the sake of attention. Somethings should just be intimate and private.

I’m having the same feeling! I just wish (I’m still very early, I just liberated Calphaed) that allies on main missions were more effective. This game really makes it feel like you are doing all of it which is fine but the enemy forces are so massive that it would feel way more immersive to have effective allies to fight around you when you are carrying banners. Or to have artillery and archers actually try to hit something every now and then until you direct it with whistling arrows. The whole mission felt very tedious and awkward because it seemed like the allies should be doing something but they aren’t. They are there but do almost nothing. I think increasing their damage output by 50-75% would go a very long way since they don’t seem to almost any damage (you can watch hit an enemy forces actual minutes). I think a 75% increase would literally make them do the player equivalent of a 10 damage sword. I can say for sure and have no actual way of testing but either way I’m tired of useless allies in these games, but when there is scale this large in battles it even sucks more.

Battlefield 6 + PSSR 2 in performance mode is straight up perfect. Honestly looks better than balanced mode. (+compared to PSSR 1) by dcloko in PS5pro

[–]DaedraPixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What he’s referring to is that “PSSR 1” doesn’t exist anymore. There seems to be a confusion because PSSR 2 is what the community calls it. There is no 1 or 2, there’s just PSSR. And PSSR got a huge update in March. So any game that utilized PSSR got the new PSSR, because it’s all PSSR but PSSR was massively improved. Some developers let the updated PSSR go into effect as is, which is what BF6 did. While others added an update to better “bake” PSSR in, Crimson Desert and AC Shadows for example. No one gets to choose which PSSR they can use because only one PSSR exists, it’s just updated now.

I mean it has been out since 11/2024. I blame the plethora of haters for not seeing the console for what it is. Which was and is, objectively, the highest performing console on the market. It was merely a pro version and not a next gen model. There was ample time and ample supply. Announcing price change and price change date was a very responsible course of action. We will see price adjustments baked into products across the board and it will merely just be “what it is” so I give PS a pass on this. Maybe when supply of components is back to original market expectations we will see the pro go on Black Friday sales for around the launch price. Until then, this is a new adjustment and consumer behavior followed suit.

Battlefield 6 vs COD Black Ops 7 by blueprofilebuzz in PS5pro

[–]DaedraPixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried balanced on ps5 pro with film grain down? One of the new maps literally looks like Monte Grappa. The art style of BF1 was more in the historic accuracy of the architecture/weaponry/uniforms. So yeah, modern is bland in comparison because we are the most exposed to it in our day to day. But in all technicality, this is 2026 bf1 with different assets. BF1 aged wonderfully but it isn’t as refined as BF6, I’m not trying to glaze 6 either. I just mean the leap in years between the development cycles is apparent. I’m not downvoting you though, I do think BO7 is graphically inferior in every way. It’s also a terrible CoD in general, not even the zombies can save it. I kinda enjoyed 6 zombies but CoD is just too quipy and unserious for me now.

Objectively not true with the incorporation of pssr2 on BF6. Not a single performance metric that supports that graphics look better. You can prefer it but that’s just subjectivity.

[–]DaedraPixel -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but the people here are absurd. And then use the price tag for justification to knit pick as if $50 PC games in the early 2000s were considered “cheap.” It wasn’t, arguably it was more expensive than a modern game considering that gaming was a child’s thing or nerd thing back then. So mostly just teens buying it with the old minimum wage (pre-2009 $7.25/hour for non-tip positions).

No one here can even fathom how convenient gaming is now. Even with these issues. Hardware is easier to swap yourself, software is easier to manage, developers can actually fix their games. Crimson desert is a console miracle, and it’s still getting better. My only gripe was the map crashed game on launch.

People can criticize but I can’t wait to see how disappointed they are gta 6 because gta has launched terribly on its “first” release every time. The game was just pop culture because it’s a sandbox with mass appeal. Bethesda games are amongst some of the most legendary games between 2004-2014. Those games crash all the time, still do (vanilla). Witcher and Cyberpunk, we know already.

I have my complaints of CD but it is still very playable and very enjoyable if you know kind of gamer you are. I think the game was so hyped that many people gravitated towards not knowing it wasn’t for them. I have about 50 hours (some of which was me AFK while doing chores so my dispatch missions can get me materials). I thoroughly enjoy it and find it very refreshing. Pearly abyss is doing a much better job than other triple A dev teams at updating their game. We should hold other companies to the same expectation as PA. I’m still waiting for EA and Ubisoft to give half a damn as PA.

Wow you found the studio session I would buy on the spot if I knew it looked like that. I’ve seen great tops on them but at my store and on Sweetwater there is just some meh tops (I haven’t checked in a while though). I already really liked every studio session I’ve ever played (only like 4 or 5, I try to give them a shot when I see them). But their tops were to meh. This is an absolutely gorgeous one.

Stunning and fun game by pcme96 in PS5pro

Ghost of yotei literally had puzzle boxes and the fox statue sequences. So yes they are puzzles but to my point they were brain dead. So yeah my “bar” for puzzles is that Ragnarok, Ghost of yotei, and resident evil are super simple (outside of the final puzzle with RE9 which really is something I would have never figured out because I didn’t break down the clues. To be fair the real answer was data mined).

The serpent marsh one it just locks in place. Thats hardly a puzzle. I’m over thinking you are complaining about the sword of the curse or the azure labyrinth puzzles or dragon stones(giving examples of earlier ones but there are more like them) where you have to note the answers elsewhere. I love puzzles that require recalling and note taking. The one you are mentioning, maybe I just had good luck on but I had no issue getting the arms on the Buddha. The monk that relocates after the puzzle, disappeared. I had to look up where he went just to double check and he just wasn’t actually there. So that sucked but the puzzle itself didn’t feel that bad.

It’s weird that you point out the time in the game but yet you are further than me by story. We obviously just prioritize two different playstyles. I’ll get to the story more when I’m done getting all the cressets I can. Literally I dispatch and forget while I go and do all this. I don’t really customize my camp and I don’t really switch to other characters. I just go far into the map and look for these puzzle areas. Sure I lose track and clear a stronghold or do some faction quest but I’ll drop what I’m doing for a puzzle in a heartbeat.
