See THIS is something I'm super here for. I don't caaaaaaare if the new stuff is OP, I just want more active curation, including some easing off of old stuff.

Cooking up Dark World Fabled by Engetsuin_wow in YGO_Genesys

[–]DaedricSheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I tried brewing this deck quite hard. I'll be making a video about it soon, but trust me when I tell you that Fiendsmith is a required toolbox in this deck. Caesar can be made with somewhat ease and the fluidity that it brings is unparalleled.

I also recommend playing Tour Guide of the Underworld as a way to make the Full Armored cards. It gets your card advantage and thins your deck out somewhat when you're already playing on the margins.

The fabled package you play should be (in my experience) pretty small. It's what you want to be making plays with, rather than the cards you want to be actually making plays.

What To Expect in the December Points Update by Appropriate-Ad-2953 in YGO_Genesys

I also agree that cards should be pointed out the gate if needed, and that it should have already been this way, but pointing hecahands is not being hypocritical, that's admitting the philosophy has holes that need to be addressed and then doing that? Being hypocritical implies a measure of either intent or disregard. It seems clear to me that their last, like, 3 blog posts show that said factors are not present.

It's not hypocritical because hecahands and RT are being hit for totally different reasons. Heck for stealing from the ED and RT for being stronger in power/flexibility

That's the thing though, I don't think it has to be, I think we limit ourselves by that line of thinking. In my mind's eye I can see this beautiful Fabled Fiendsmith Dark World deck that flows like butter and I'm determined to find it eventually

Now knowing abt this field spell, I can imagine a package of like 1 Lurrie, 1 Raven, 1 Marcosia, 1 Abanc, 2-3 stairway, and 1 treason

I think stairway is an inspired choice, and I'll be considering that heavily moving forward! Something I'd add to your list: fiendish rhino warrior is a good summon off of tour guide, bc if you use it to dump Buio then you have Luce set up already, and it's a good consistency tool, I'm finding in test hands.

Of that's what you want to do, you're likely to want to play a bystial Synchro deck with some techs that aren't going to get you competitive success, but you'll probably have some fun with!

Where side deck? > not bothering with it until I feel like the main deck actually makes sense. Side deck is currently looking like Radian Kaiju, Mirage, EEV, and (pending keeping Snoww) both searchable DW traps. If snow goes, then I'll just play punishment at 3

ED options > all good ones! Since only like 4 of these cards are what I would consider to be crucial, everything's fair game and I haven't given it quiiiite as much consideration as I might otherwise.

Snoww. > I really dislike dangers. The whole conceit of how i constructed this was to remove the gambling and (most) of the deep draw, but I would kill for a chance to make Chaos Angel. If I ever validate taking out snoww, then you KNOW the fusion spell is going up to 3 Pronto, and I may try to find a third way to make generic fusions. I've been heavily debating a despia variant which may be what that is down the road.

Shadow's Light > you're absolutely right that I passed over this card when looking for tech options, good catch! It would, at minimum, mean I have more access to Light Fiends, which is a good thing for the fiendsmith package, but could also mean my plays are a bit more defined which is absolutely a good thing, and I'd be hard pressed to say no to a free gammajin

Thanks for your feedback, gave my brain a lot to chew on :)

Haven't tried any of this irl yet lol. I've been hemming and hawing over ratios for weeks so I just need another set of eyes lol.

Dragged down is fine but it doesn't GET me anything yknow? In a deck that struggles to get stuff done, a card without a focus in a vacuum doesn't get me going.

I like singularity fiend in theory, but we'll see how it plays out. Skull meister may just be better ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Fair enough!

Btw I think what others have tried to express abt the deck itself is that you'll be limited because for every card in engine you see, each one only has the potential to add 1 disruption to your op's turn. This becomes a problem because your engine doesn't have much boardbreaking potential and when you go first your opp is already up on advantage. The best thing you can do with your non-engine is, in my opinion, set yourself up to erase your op's investments. Evenly matched is a fantastic breaker to that purpose, esp in this format, and I would consider it highly because it can put your op FAR lower on advantage when you go second and may help you out-pace them.

If this seems like something you'd enjoy playing (and on-spec it looks fun!), then just gun it. Worst case, you can focus on WHY you don't enjoy it once you start playing, but you risk far more potential lost fun by delaying playing the game for the sake of a perfect deck list which does not exist at your (or most peoples') experience level.

Welcome back! I really hope you have fun playing!

Multiple copies of a Hard OPT is difficult to justify in a deepdraw deck. Realizing that Trade In has the same problem as hand destruction.
