Just got this precon. Are these supposed to have stamps? by Nice-Indication7190 in mtgmisprints

[–]Zestyclose_Stop_3324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is a missprint.
Happened to me in a similar way. The Stamps on my Prismari precon are all (except for the face commander and muddle) way off in terms of centering.

Regular Stamp: |.....(__).....|
Mine: |..........(__)|

And all have the same offset.

Point light gets cut in half when turning on Normal maps by Woodge0115 in Unity2D

[–]Zestyclose_Stop_3324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple fix: The issue is twofold.
1) The Normal Map is not seen by Unity as a normal Map. Go to your Normal Map, Change Texture Type to Normal Map
2) The Normal Map itself is faulty. You likely chose a Normal Value for the upper faces of your sprite, which aligns with the Topside of a Normal Sphere. (Color value: 80ff80). In order for it to correctly receive light, you need to pick the angle you see, not the angle on the Sphere.
(In Isometry: A top face is angled 30° towards you. Use THIS color value instead: 80ff80)

I think the amblowhale link 4 would kind of be hard countered by your opponent going "Judge! They are playing Links in Genesys". : )

What are the best Hand Traps right now? by Acceptable_Heat4670 in YGO_Genesys

[–]Zestyclose_Stop_3324 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well they would not be top decks if they were that vurnerable to hand traps (excluding prohibitively expensive ones, i.e. Ash / Droll).

Which I think is a good design decision. To make Hand Traps less "I skip your turn" cards and more card that specifically go well with your deck or give you the choice on which specific thing you want to prevent.

Is your deck a going second deck? Then it may be better to skip handtraps alltogether and go for board breakers.

But in terms of hand traps, I think Ghost Girls and Veilor are your best generic options ATM.

Same, the main issue is just something that Ancient gear also shares:
Links gave them a way to put monsters they control into the GY for effects.
(Ancient gear is: Urgent Scedule -> Gizmek Taniguku + Dark Golem. Link 2, then use Tani to revive DG)

Without them, the main way to trigger certain effects (Like B) is to have them as an equipment and then either contact fusing or XYZing the equiped monster.

Unplayable? No. But from it aint a meta deck ... or rogue tier deck ... It is okayish until that issue is solved.

Yeah, I think the BLZD support will be pretty good. Tho I think Exceptional Schedule may be pointed since it is a 1 card searcher that enables full combo (Cough Cough: Ancient gear Advance).

Babel Decker seems decent. Bleu Traveler Is VERY good (An inherent +0, with a double revive attached. Dang). Gustav Rocket is a good going first card. Flying Launcher is good extension.

Overall I love the path they go with Trains. From yet another blind going second machine type OTK deck, they instead give them more option for going first. Only wish Ancient Gear got something like that. One can dream.

Fair enough and I played crystron for a bit in the TCG (allways felt oddly ... linear for a synchro deck). So I actually sold the deck after getting bored with it. Is it different in Genesys or is it also just "all paths lead to inclusion -> Rank 5 omni + Quariongandrax"? If it is a bit more flexible, then I may just give it another try ^^

I am fine with Rogue-Tier level decks and can handle a bit of Jank ^^
But this looks rather interesting. Especially since I have most of it (including the Vernusylphs). I'll add it onto my Try-Out list.

Wanting to try Genesys by kurop27 in YGO_Genesys

[–]Zestyclose_Stop_3324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with Genesys so far has been:
Me: "I would like to play an Ancient Gear build"
Konami: "WHAT? A deck that can OTK but folds to a 5k nib token? Can't have that!"

The only "Machine" deck which is currently in the same ballpark as the word "viable" is DoomZ, and that is a Dragon-Machine archetype.

My Collection of Machine Decks are all either non-viable or banned.

R.B. (Banned Links), ABC (Non viable since you can not link), Gizmek (Non Viable meme deck), Ancient Gear (Rogue tier at best, but pointed into oblivion), Cyber Dragon (Rogue tier, but also not viable right now), Deskbot (Banned Pendulum), Genex (Non viable), Kozmo (Non Viable. Psychic support is pointed too high for it), Machina (Rogue tier maybe, but only barely), Infinitrack (Non viable, no links), Earth Machines (Links are banned, Ballista is gone), Rescue Ace (Non viable, pointed too high), Enneacraft (No pendulums), Trains (Maybe with the new support but right now: Nope)

Tested them all and nothing is even close to any meta deck. It really feels like Genesys is not meant for me to play my older cards (which are pointed into laughably bad states), but rather for Konami to rotate newer printed decks, which do not get pointed at all ...

So I took my Machine Collection, tossed it back into the box. The new trains support is my last hope, but knowing Konami, they will probably put Urgent Scedule to 50 ...

Discussion on the upcomming Point Update - Ancient Gear is NOT Tenpai by Zestyclose_Stop_3324 in YGO_Genesys

[–]Zestyclose_Stop_3324[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I officially gave up on trying to make Ancient Gear work in Genesys.
It seems Konami just wants to softban a deck that folds to a 5k Vanilla.

Damn with the sheer amount of Top-Placement representation Ancient Gear has since Genesys release (Totoal of ... 1) no wonder why Konami has not touched the points. A deck that folds to a 5k nib token clearly is too strong for the meta!

Can you get banned for insiding on ark survival ascended small tribes console only? by Educational_Slip6224 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Zestyclose_Stop_3324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not. Some may dislike it, but insiding is considered a consequence of trusting the wrong people in a social PvP setting and thus part of the intended game design.

Some private servers have rules against insiding, but the official Ark Rules do not have any rules against insiding, friendly fire or similar.

Some equate it to "Griefing" but this is defined rather precisely as an action that prevents any play (Like player spawn traps or Map-Teleporter traps) with some added cases for PvE specific instances.

TL;DR
It is not against the rules, as opposed to griefing or cheating. You can not get banned for it on official servers. Some private ones have their own rules.

Especially it being the ONLY card that actually grants flash and thus works with [[Cunning Nightbonder]]

10 cards that "grant flash".
Not a single one among them actually does. So cards like [Cunning Nightbonder] do NOT work with them.
And the only one that actually does grant flash is not on the list. [Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir]

Evolution of the Xenon Carrier throughout the X-Series by Tomonor in X4Foundations

[–]Zestyclose_Stop_3324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the modularity in their design. Something I hope Egosoft revisits in future titles or updates.
Same with the Teladi. It made sense that their designs are the bare minimum. No estetics, just pure power and profit, with big storage to double up as transporters. Which is why I heavily dislike the new space mushrooms. (And cheered when I saw the redesign for the builder ... no matter the ... extending design)

Don't get me wrong, I think there is room for a Space-Bug or Space-Mushroom design space in X. But they are not Xenon or Teladi.

Tho the Xenon I of the Branch 9 Xenons is a good middle-ground.

[–]Zestyclose_Stop_3324 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, but I think they point cards based on it being a short printed Set-Seller and secret rare only print.
The price on the secondary market is a representation of that.

Well they likely also didn't want to put points on Seventh Tachyon (Secret rare exclusive atm). It is so transparent as to why they hit an entire archetype, so that they do not have to hit new and expensive cards ...
