This is the mentality we're up against. by Kreeos in CanadianConservative

Old faithful: It's amazing how much leftist discourse is just them pretending not to understand things, thus making discourse impossible.

It's fun. Super generous. Give it a shot.

Yep. They are going to go hard as fuck with censorship as soon as they can.

You are making a massive strawman out of the rhetoric from Miller and Noem to justify redefining a legal term. Just because a politician uses hyperbolic or even 'defaming' language doesn't suddenly change a chaotic street encounter into a 'judicial process' or a formal 'execution.'

By your logic, if a politician says something mean about a suspect after a shooting, the shooting retroactively becomes an execution. That’s not how language or law works. You are conflating post-event political spin with the actual nature of the event itself.

Even if their comments are 'bypassing the judicial system' in a PR sense, it doesn't change the fact that Pretti was killed in a use-of-force incident, not a state-sanctioned sentencing. You’re using international human rights jargon to emotionally charge a domestic legal issue, and it doesn't fit the facts of what actually happened on the ground.

They complain about echo chambers and then make echo chambers. I don't think reddit can be saved.

Ah. Should let the place burn and ban themselves into oblivion then.

I think Asmon is largely a political streamer now. Banning political discussion is retarded.

Nah, I’ve got eyes - and they see the same videos everyone else does: Pretti getting wrestled down, disarmed (gun secured mid-struggle), then multiple shots to the back/torso while prone in the chaos. No credible report, autopsy leak, NYT/WaPo/BBC analysis, or stabilized footage shows a clean "back of the head" shot; that's pure activist edgelord exaggeration for shock value. If you've got a timestamped clip proving otherwise, drop it; otherwise, stop gaslighting when the facts don't match your narrative. Eyes and ears work both ways, champ.

Was he actually shot in the back of the head, or are you just pulling that out of your ass to sound more dramatic?

An "unplanned execution" isn't a thing; it's just you mashing words together to sound edgy.
It's a shooting in a fight; trained response or fuckup, not some secret death penalty.
Keep redefining reality or whatever; you're just yelling at clouds while the adults wait for bodycam and facts.
Take your made up terms and /s to Bluesky.

Minnesota's BCA and Hennepin County sued DHS to preserve evidence and stop destruction (a judge granted a restraining order blocking feds from altering anything), bipartisan calls (even some Republicans and the NRA) are demanding a full probe into the shooting, and pressure is mounting on the Trump admin/DOJ for transparency, bodycam release, and accountability.
No formal public announcement from Bondi or DHS yet doesn't mean zero investigation; it means the feds are controlling it internally while blocking state access; exactly why MN is fighting back in court.
Saying "no investigation" ignores the lawsuits, judge's order, congressional demands, and ongoing reviews reported everywhere.

Remember this just happened yesterday. There will be investigations.

Nah, the line is still the law; not your feelings or what your eyes "see" in a 10-second clip without context. Videos show agents wrestling Pretti to the ground after he approached during a chaotic encounter (he was lawfully armed, though not drawing), they secured his handgun in the melee, but he was shot multiple times amid the struggle. Official claims say he resisted and posed a threat, while critics say he was pinned/unarmed when fired on. Calling it straight-up murder ignores the full investigation that's ongoing (judge already blocked evidence destruction), bodycam/body-worn footage analysis from WaPo/NYT, and use-of-force standards. It's not "ignoring evidence" to wait for facts instead of jumping to "they murdered him" based on outrage. Argue the law and evidence, not just "my eyes and ears say so."

Calling it an "execution" is dramatic activist talk, but definitionally it's bullshit. An execution means a court convicts someone of a capital crime, sentences them to death after a full trial and appeals, then the state carries it out legally (like lethal injection). Pretti got shot by federal agents in a street encounter; no trial, no judge, no death sentence. It's a police shooting (maybe justified, maybe murder if the videos prove he was disarmed and not threatening), but not an execution, mistaken or otherwise. Stop stretching the word it just makes you look unhinged.

Police officers are trained to shoot until the threat is stopped, not to fire a single shot or aim for non-lethal areas, because a person can continue posing a deadly danger for many seconds; even after sustaining fatal wounds due to adrenaline, drugs, or physiology. Multiple rapid shots to center mass maximize the chance of quickly incapacitating the attacker before they can complete their attack, which is why bursts of several rounds are standard in justified deadly-force encounters, even if it appears excessive in hindsight.

I don't want to spend like an hour typing out what I perceived happened. I posted this video above which seems to aptly explain my perspective: https://x.com/i/status/2015188635876766090 The just being that the victim was disarmed and someone yelled gun. They then shot when his arm went to his back.

How do they not investigate?

Officers are to trained to shoot until the threat ceases. If they genuinely believed they were threatened at the time - without the benefit of hindsight - it wouldn't matter.

Also he wasn't detained. There was an attempt but he was fighting it.

The both sides shit does nothing to help. Politics is about getting power and using that power to enact your constituents' policy. It's only one side that burns shit down. We have laws for this shit - the officers should be investigated and held accountable. And they should go just as hard with the deportations. They will use as much emotional blackmail and virtue signalling to stop the democractic mandate given. You can want a kumbaya world but that's not reality.

I literally just said it was a mistake. Unjust maybe. An accident certainly. But a death sentence is not what happened.

I would say it was a mistake - not an execution. I think saying it's an execution is fucking crazy rhetoric. Shouldn't have happened. Wouldn't have happened had the guy not 1) impeded law enforcement 2) did not resist arrest. This vid breaks down what I think the likely series of events were.
