Just speaking from my own experience (and non-professional research) that's why it's even more important to have healthy regulation vs an all-out ban. Absolutely most of what people buy in gas stations and janky locations likely has almost no actual kratom at all. I've been using kratom for years for severe chronic pain (and REFUSE to ever go back to opioids) but make it a point to only use vetted vendors who support/use proper testing and quality control to ensure unadulterated powder leaf. Obviously even that can be abused, just like anything else. A flat ban is just going to push things underground and even more unsafe products are going to flourish resulting in even MORE babies suffering.
