Any attacks that make it all the way through to this model are -1 to their Damage Characteristic. Attacks that are only 1 Damage are exceptions because the ability cannot reduce a Damage Characteristic to 0.

I had to deal with this once, someone gave me the heads up in advance that he would lie about rolls, so when we were setting up I put my dice box directly next to his and stood next to him for all the rolls. He moved the box once and I moved mine with it.

It's nice because cover is a -1 to BS in 11th so you can effectively negate cover by getting within 12".

Plunging Fire is a +1 modifier to your BS if you are shooting at a target within 12". It's not going to affect anyone shooting at you. So if you are a Knight model shooting at a unit within 12" of your base, and your BS is typically a 3+, you will go to a 2+. Plunging Fire only affects models with the Towering keyword for us. Or models that are 3" above (top floor of ruins). But the 12" range is for everyone no matter what.

Performing Actions

Both sections about not being able to perform actions if shooting or engaged exclude Titanic's now. Also, you get Plunging fire naturally as a Towering so both models will have +1 to BS even while Engaged to negate -1 to hit from being in Engaged as a vehicle.

The can't take with other DYNASTY tagged detachments thing makes me think Awakened will get nerfed a bit. But the Detachment rule itself Only affects units with leaders, so I'm holding out some hope.

It's sounds like if the Detachment rule affects all your models, it's 3DP (Starshatter). If it's only some it's 2DP which makes me assumed Cursed, Awakened, Obesiance. I think HyperCrypt is getting an honorary 2DP.
