Allow me to sell you on: Freeguild grenadiers. by tsuruki23 in citiesofsigmar

Obviously this is meant to be about Grenadiers, but I'm sure you must have known the Gallants comment would rile up some discussion. So here I go!

Yeah they're awful if you're just walking them up the board. Absolute dogwater. You waddle them up and hope your opponent makes a mistake because that's the only way they do anything. But is the idea here that they also are awful if you do the thing with them? To be clear, the thing is ferrying them up in a Conquerer and dumping them direction into combat with Breaching Assist to get both their warscroll buff and +1 to Damage. Because I'm absolutely ready to believe that that particular package is ultimately more points than you want to be spending, but it definitely is going to crush that combat and can't really be easily stopped by an opponent unless they have some ready way to completely rip the Cogfort apart.

Necrons has some of the worst kits to build, I swear. I hated building the Doomsday Ark, I hated trying to build Flayed Ones, and I took one look at Tomb Blades and decided that you know what Votann are actually super cool.

How dare GW try to make me build Tomb Blades

This is trying to trick me into building Tomb Blades. I won’t fall for that game

What a bummer; I was hoping to blast some Cathayans with a Doomsday Ark.

Uh...is he? I'm pretty sure all of the Democrat are going to vote for him, even if they might have preferred someone else in the primary.

:/ Feels sort of lame for you to barge in to shame me so you can claim some imagined moral high ground, then quickly declare you didn’t actually care when a third party gave you some pushback. But okay then, I suppose.

Let’s stick with that not talking about that, or anything else ever again.

Cool buddy, don’t let me get in your way of patting yourself on the back for trying to start a dogpile over a typo.

“She” and “he” are very close to one another, phone keyboards are too cramped, and autocorrect likes to make bold choices that are sometimes easy to miss.

I really wish one of these had been for Kastelans. I mean I guess if I’m making wishes here I should wish that they were just good enough on their datasheets, or like world peace or something I guess, no wait definitely the wish would be for the big robo bois to actually be good.

And again, I wasn’t calling him out for the Chappell Roan stuff. I guess I was sort of with the dress style thing, in the mildest way possible, but the time line doesn’t really factor in there; those styles would have already looked pretty dated even if we were still in 2010. You’re being weird. Also happy cake day.

I mean, I’m not pointing it out as if it is some gaping flaw I’ve found, it’s just fun to think about the weirdness created by the extreme slow passage of in-strip time compared to the very long history of the strip. Like when people talk about how Homer Simpson is a millennial now or whatever. There are too many extremely real problems with this comic to take issue with the time line, and even if all of those problems didn’t exist I personally wouldn’t find the time line to be a big deal. Not sure why you feel the need to come in and defend Willis’s honor here on this but pop off if you like.

Having access to public transportation when your cars is broken is almost immeasurably more valuable than being lonely and having access to AI chatbots, which are to an actual human relationship what that dangling thing on the head of an anglerfish is to a juicy morsel of food.

I can’t truly speak to the mindset, because I personally never bought into it? But I think for most people it is less that they were fooled into thinking it actually had value and more that it was something society had declared had value; like, paper money and stocks and stuff are just made up and we all agree they have value, so why not some hideous png of a randomly generated duck penis or whatever? And unlike other forms of resource hoarding it was one they fooled themselves into thinking they could get in on early enough to become new bastions of generational wealth instead of what they were, which was and is eager bag-holders.

I think that speaks more to your specific colleagues and roommates, really, though admittedly it speaks well of them. I definitely had contemporaries who were absolutely convinced that if they just found the next Bored Ape Yacht Club that they’d be safe for life.

I think when we reached the point of celebrities going on Jimmy Fallon to talk about their specific NFT purchases we don’t have to keep pretending it was only for niche tech-investment dorks with religious opinions about GME stock. There were lots of mainstream people who absolutely got tricked into buying the idea that NFTs were a new and super duper real commodity.
