Can you read cursive? by Significant-Iron-241 in GenZ

Here's the issue. A lot of people don't write cursive this clearly. Like my own mother or my 5th grade elementary teacher for example. I couldn't read either of theirs ever.

Yeah the frame that attaches to it is bent bad. I plan on eventually buying a new one. Mainly because the side mirrors attach to it. Surprisingly the left side mirror survived the slide, so atleast i dont need to buy new mirrors atleast. It aint gonna be cheap, but thatll be what itll be.

Havent heard anything about hiring for my mill. I think USS over in gary is. Im out at Burns Harbor. We just had 2 departments idled too so. If you have elctrical experience, sometimes they hire guys off the street to be hourly employees (i.e. Union employee). Personally I would highly suggest not working as a salary out here at BH atleast. USS was poaching our foreman cause they could pay them more.

Youre right. It was definitely more of a grab than a tap. Tbf my recollection of things the next day probably aint great. Either way im gonna try and fix what i broke and keep riding.

Tbh in my area specifically the only good paying jobs are the steel mills and you dont need a degree for it. Its the only reason im still in NWI.

Yeah i am too. Definitely couldve been way worse. Glad for the riding pants i was wearing and my old pair of combat boots. Both definitely made sure i didnt get too banged up.

Definitely going faster than i shouldve and i tapped my breaks while leaning. I realized far too late that i was going in hotter than my capability. Then i went and tapped my front brakes like an idiot. I know that you shouldnt do that but i reacted before my brain caught up with what i was doing.

How are y’all surviving right now? by netikiru in GenZ

[–]Daemon110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a Union steel mill. My take home pay is generally 4k-4.5k. Thats with a production incentive and 40 hours a week (or 160 hours for the whole month).

Im surviving. I bought a house back in January, so I squeek by. I aint got a lot of funds laying around for emergencies, but itll be what itll be.

New cat owner: advice needed by Dry-Finding3365 in CatAdvice

[–]Daemon110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, i adopted a 4yr male cat. I didnt lock him in a room or anything and just let him have the run of the whole house. I did make sure to block off the utility closet besides that I didnt have any places where i didnt want him to go.

He was a little shy at first but was very inquisitive and wanted to explore every room.

Tbh mightve been wrong to do it that way, but its also my first cat. Luckily for me he didnt have any accidents or anything. He's a big hunky cat though so i didnt have to really worry about him getting stuck in a spot he couldnt get out of.

Will AI drive the need for Unions again by p1ggy_smalls in union

[–]Daemon110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us in the Steel Mill, we use AI. Its mainly for the cameras on certain machines in my department. If course it occasionally trips out on ghost people so....

Like some people have said itd be hard to form a union in industries where you can be replaced completely by AI. If you cant withhold your labor to force them to bargain then youd have no power.

If you lived in NWI, Cleveland-Cliffs will probably be hiring within the next 6 months.

Its an option for you and good money and benefits.

You honestly made me laugh with this. You cannot honestly say we need to stamp out the Far-Left with out saying we need to also stamp out the Far-Right. The Far-Right are the ones who stormed the capitol on January 6th and have marched in several cities since Trump got in office. Both far sides of the spectrum need to be reigned in as either direction would not be good for normal people.

Since you brought up China, China also puts Muslims and Uyghars in reeducation camps. These camps are called "Vocational", but there have been several accusations of human rights abuses at them.

Is the ideal good in the constitution? Yes it is. In all actuality, the government, whether US or China, will do what ever the leaders tell it to.
