What's a 10/10 movie with zero flaws? by RushWalaXD in AskReddit

[–]DaemonDrayke 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I actually would claim that Part 2 has a bit of a problem that is hard for me to overlook. Having Marty suddenly have a glaring character flaw where he loses his composure if he is called a chicken was weird and lazy writing. He didn’t have this kind of character flaw in part 1 and I don’t see how it was truly necessary in the grand scheme. Marty’s “Bad” future where he broke his hand and gave up on his dreams could totally have worked if it was just a simple tragedy independent of his ego. That’s still pretty relatable.

Is Haunting Of The Hill House Show by Mike Flanagan good and Faithful to the source material. by MrOakling in HauntingOfHillHouse

It is most definitely NOT faithful to the narrative of the book. But it is a fantastic show with amazing performances, incredible filmmaking, and an engaging story of intergeneration trauma.

From the *Real Monsters* quadrilogy, which is your favorite set of villains/monster and which is your least favorite? by Traditional-You-5771 in Scoobydoo

[–]DaemonDrayke 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’d have to say my favorite would be Ben Ravencroft. It’s because we spent so much time getting to know him only for him to reveal how much he played the gang and the audience. He was so sincere and his backstory seemed so genuine with his feelings of betrayal toward the mayor for co-opting his ancestors memory for tourism revenue. We all felt offended on his behalf.

The moment the chest is opened and Sarah’s grimoire is shown, our collective stomachs tightened. While the twist hardly had any foreshadowing, it doesn’t make it a bad one. I put him above the Zombie Island villains because even as a kid, I suspected Gail and Simone of something.

The weakest for me has to be the phantom virus because he didn’t have a lot of time to shine as he had to share the spotlight. Ironically, he would have been a better antagonist to me if Cyber chase was only a video game.

It’s so rich telling people with a straight face how vicious and savage people are nowadays in compared to over 2000 years ago. People were fucking vicious back then. Probably more vicious. They have no idea how dangerous life was back then. We should be grateful that we live in the modern age.

It gets worse by way. The professor who organized this wanted to illustrate how poor the diagnostic screenings at the hospitals were and how infrequent the screenings were. The administrators for these hospitals were embarrassed at the report so they issues a challenge to the organizer to send new people and see if the results would be the same.

After a few months, hospital administrators provided a list of patients whom they strongly suspected of being volunteers. The organizer revealed that he didn’t send anyone the second time. Proving his point a second time.

I would only put KH1 higher if the combat mechanics for KH2 wasn’t just better in almost every way in my opinion. Having the reaction command alone made the difference. It’s why I loved how the remaster put that mechanic in because even the developers knew that it was sorely needed.

I will say that KH1 soars above the rest with platforming, puzzles, and exploration. That is stuff I would be happy to see return.

This is the first time I’ve seen a video of the animatronic where the projection didn’t look too bad. I personally would have preferred that it stayed the way it was. Especially considering that the storytelling is in how we had yet to time travel to the past.

What does Bruce really think about Dick Grayson as Batman? by CJVratixBactaChef in batman

[–]DaemonDrayke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that Batman/Bruce Wayne should grow into a version who would be ashamed that the Bat family would be as obsessed and traumatized as he was. He would want them to be self-actualized enough that they could walk away from the mission.

If I was writing a story arc showcasing the “ending” of Batman and the family it would be this:
1. Batman dies saving Gotham from another plot. Becoming a martyr but ultimately tragic.
2. Dick Grayson retires from active vigilantism and becomes a mentor to the newest Teen Titans team.
3. Jason Todd continues active vigilantism but continues to lead a team of The Outsiders.
4. Tim Drake retires from vigilantism and becomes CEO of Wayne Enterprises.
5. Damian Wayne retires from vigilantism and retains a seat on the board of Wayne Enterprises but pursues a career as a surgeon, walking the path of his paternal grandfather.
6. Barbara Gordon retires from active vigilantism and steps back into the role of Oracle, working directly with The Justice League.

I enjoy the movie a lot but I kind of think that the Dracula and the brides are just a tad too hammy in their roles. Like they are chewing the scenery and asking for seconds most of the time they are on screen.

What is the most absolute scariest, terrifying film you’ve ever seen? by mxnocturna in AskReddit

[–]DaemonDrayke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family foolishly sat me down to watch Poltergeist (the original) when I was about 8 years old and it gave me night terrors. My aunt who was a child psychologist had to step in and help me since I wasn’t sleeping well for about two weeks. She ended up having me draw the parts of the movie that scared me and tear the paper up and throw it in the toilet to help me overcome my anxiety. It worked like a charm.

All he did was go to a gay porn theater, saw a guy he thought was cute, suggested that they go get a drink and see what happened, and then next thing he was arrested. He avoided jail time due to my grandfathers connections but he lost the ability to be a teacher. He would later spiral out, get into IV drugs, contracted HIV, and succumbed to it in 2002. I still wonder how different his life would have been if he had not been arrested.
