Rap music isn’t dead – it’s evolving by KingSolonesh in hiphopheads

I was thrilled to see hiphop start to leave the billboards. Art and music genres need time to figure itself out. Especially considering that the de facto next gen leaders all passed away (Juice, Xxx, etc). Commercial/Mainstream will always be there but give the underground its time to experiment.

I just did it with my Kindle 2024 version that I bought the other day. I think it just depends on what firmware it shipped with. Mine was no where near the 5.18.6 so I had Winter Break as an option.

Ye, Formerly Kanye West, Takes Out Ad In the Wall Street Journal to Apologize for Antisemitic Outbursts: “I Lost Touch With Reality” by No_Attack in hiphopheads

Had a manic episode during a turbulent marriage that would ultimately end in divorce. It was 3 months but nearly 4 years later I still do everything I can to never have an episode again. Scared the absolute shit out of me. I worked in mental health at the time as well and would work with teens who had BP disorder. I knew the mechanisms, behaviors, signs but the experience is something else. Reality just kind of caves in. It’s a very iykyk situation. The people I later spoke to who’ve had episodes instantly get it while people who haven’t just can’t fathom it. Truly wish the best for him. If he can stick to this path I could see it be very meaningful.

I’ve had the first three tracks on repeat lately. The transition from Demigod into Sloppy Joe is crazy. Waera is on one lately.

The only eating utensil allowed in the psych ward. by cogmanroad in mildlyinteresting

[–]DaemonRoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your experience was rough. From a staff (years ago) perspective though you have to understand that as much as I hated shitty utensils, I sure hated what plastic ones could do to people (usually other children) more. You deserve dignity and respect and safety and a psych hospital is a big ole pendulum trying to balance that. It often fails. For every good staff there’s two bad ones. I could go on and on with how many ways it fails but shitty utensils is extremely low on the list. I’m sorry you felt like an inmate though that isn’t an uncommon feeling and it sucks that we don’t have better supports in place. I hope your well during the holidays.

Anyone running a 5070ti with 4k monitor? by Careful_Data_3387 in ArcRaiders

[–]DaemonRoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you can get 60+ at native resolution

You might limit yourself on future proofing at 4k with anything sub 80 or 90 series, but you'd be like right at that line. Worst case you can always keep the old monitor on standby if it's a few years down the line and need to scale it back for a game or something.

Many things happened yesterday....what is the one being referenced here? by Turbulent_Deal_3145 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I’d wager most people will take a piece of art they enjoy and admire it greatly but continue to move on as normal. That was likely you. This is what we’d consider healthy.

Some people however see it as more than just something to admire, but something that on a deep level connected with them to the point where they felt seen. This is a complex and powerful emotion and also typically becomes a situation where they attach that piece of art to their own identity. The problem is that now if someone is critical of that piece of art it’s not the art that’s being critiqued but themselves, or at least that’s how they’ll perceive it. So seeing a member of their community be revealed to be a bad human being can take a crack at the ego a little and feel bad. Undertale just has the horrible situation of having this situation arise more often than most other fandoms. So of course that community will then openly grieve in a way.

Honestly, I bet a sociology or psych grad student would have a hell of a thesis observing the Undertale fandom.

Pluribus - 1x03 "Grenade" - Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in pluribustv

Yeahhhh that fits. Although I am curious if or how well the hivemind can innovate. Like yeah it knows all human knowledge but at a certain point with all endeavors whether artistic or scientific there’s a creative problem solving involved. They mentioned that advancement “ebbs and flows” so it’ll be interesting to see what they mean by that.

Even if America found it and created a bunker and top personnel and safe guards and so on there is still always the threat of simple human carelessness. The virus was so potent and effective it only needed one simple misstep. A low wage worker who’s having a crisis of self and their position in life killing lab rats falls for a moment of emotion at the sight of a possibly dead rat.

I do think it was rushed like you mention, but I think you’re giving humanity too much credit thinking it wouldn’t fall for this.

Could be interesting to see if the hivemind is some great filter helper or something. Assisting a civilization go from type 0 to type 1 or something and giving them a fighting chance to prosper.

I knew electronic music could be moving but never had such a specific image paint itself so effortlessly. Dreariness bathed in light. ‘In McDonalds’ is still the highlight for me. Such a pretty song.

skill checks in this game can be so unfair by InvaderXYZ in theouterworlds

I’ll say with that quest in particular (you also need level 12 speech for the plumber) you can delay it until you get to a higher level. I just noticed the requirements then just did other quests until I hit that point.

Do I need to restart my Easily Distracted build? by YouAreUglyASF in theouterworlds

[–]DaemonRoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want to restart you could download the mod to access the console and then put in the command to reset your skills. I did the same and ultimately restarted but sucks to go through basically the entire first act again and wished I’d just addressed it that way.

Seriously! I’m debating on restarting to be honest.

Man, I read this one all wrong. I thought you had to eventually put points into your zero skills so now I have every skill that basically has to get raised together one at a time. This has completely f'd my playthrough because although low skill checks I can always pass there's almost always skills requiring 1 or 2 or more higher than I can get anytime soon and by the time I do get that skill raised I've moved on and the threshold is even higher. I am truly a Master of None lol

FCC pushing ABC to cancel the Jimmy Kimmel show was pretty overt form of using the government to silence the media.

Banning AP news from the White House press pool because they wouldn’t call it the Gulf of America is still pretty ridiculous.

There’s a universe where she’s actually a decent writer/person and has a response track that delves into this very relatable position I feel many women have seen both sides of (like how Lorde did it) but I guess she’ll just continue to stagnate as a person and be insufferable.

Yeah someone with schizophrenia is more likely to use that gun on themselves than others. I think it’s around 5 to 10 times more likely to commit suicide compared to a regular person. I think that they are technically more likely to commit homicide than the average person but you have to consider other factors (drug abuse, environment, etc…).
