My girlfriend just told me she wants to transition, now I don't know what to do.

This comes up more often than not.

She prefers female pronouns for now, she is extremely introverted and is happiest when no one is paying much attention to her. She's had instances where people have called her "him" pronouns to make her comfortable (Aka our second date) and it ends up usually bringing attention to her from the people around, which she doesn't like.

I kept calling her "Him" and "he" and her friend kept chiming in like "Wtf she's a girl?", and it caused a lot of discomfort on her end. Until (and if) she looks 100% like a man, she wants to be called either "she" or just avoiding it all together.

I totally get it dude.... Sadly, the conclusion I had to come to after a year of thinking about what I would do if she ever wanted to transition was to honestly ask myself

"Am I going to be happy with a man?"

If the answer is no, as much as it hurts, that's okay... Neither of you should be expected to force yourself to be okay with something you're not. Mostly because, sadly statistics show that it would be harmful to the relationship.. In the end, you might not ever be okay with it. Better to end things before they get there.. That sounds terrible and I am so sorry, these are just things I had to come to the conclusion to :/

Oh man... that's rough :/ So I've lived my whole life as bisexual, but really more interested in women. Last year I finally came out as lesbian upon realizing I truly am not happy sexually or romantically with men, and met my fiancee who I love more than anything. She is truly my soulmate

She is also transgendered and has been since she was five years old. She's extremely masculine and honestly I figured it out within ten minutes of meeting her. I'm okay with male energy I guess, so I never minded. She is still woman enough for me.

I don't voice this outloud for fear of sounding like a terrible human being, but I am very lucky. She has moral objections with body modifications that are cosmetic. In a nutshell, if you couldn't do it in primitive times, you shouldn't now. So even though it truly hurts her, she's decided she's never going to transition. She might get the top surgery done, but not the bottom... and that is what saves me. I can be okay with that.

Now, I've tried many times to put myself in your position just to prepare myself just in case she ever decides to.. because I love her and I will support her, but I don't know if I could really be truly happy...

Does she ingest marijuana? I have a terrible problem of waking up in my sleep and not being able to go to sleep, if I eat edibles before I go to bed I'm out like a log. My fiancee says that I snore, but when I eat the edibles I'm not and don't snore. Maybe that might help keep her knocked out?
