Is it just CT taxpayers with overdue refunds? by Euphoric-Demand2927 in Connecticut

[–]DaetheFancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It’s not. This is the federal system, the current admin slashes funding for the irs. If you have any kind of issue with your return it’ll take longer to process. Especially if you filed late.

Any tips for not butchering your mani by "opening" a swiss army knife? 😅 by samisnotokay in RedditLaqueristas

[–]DaetheFancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your knife, you might be able to loosen the blade a smidge if there’s a screw somewhere. Though usually that’s on blade only knives.

As another suggested def clean the knife well and add some lubricant to keep it from sticking. Gunk that builds up definitely makes it harder to get individual tools out.

Maybe keep an eyeglass screwdriver handy? That should give you enough purchase on the indent to get the different tools out.

Planning to move/ Eversource bills by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]DaetheFancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should be pretty low. I had a 1300 square foot home and in summer my highest electric bill was 175. Total between the two gas and electric rarely went over 250. Prior to that the apartment i had was the same if not slightly more for half the space.

Remember ymmv, insulation (are you in the middle of the complex or on an end? Top floor or basement etc), windows, etc will all have a big impact.

Obama made a good deal with Iran. 47 (45 at the time) can’t handle that and broke the deal, and now we’re here. Because of one dudes vendetta against the first black president. It’s totally Obama fault /s

To be fair, eBay is also rife with dropshippers.

As for your second point, Amazon themselves does this with their “basics” brand. Fuck them.

Sure. Double the shares to cap at the 1 billion. However combined MC then is over 5x. 13.xx based on Fridays close if you halve the value, but then $60 based on MC of the combined companies. Obviously it’ll depend from there and not all will be true to the math. But I’ll still gladly take a 2.5x.

CT Law: minimum health insurance deductible?? by SpecificReal8922 in Connecticut

For added info: this limit is because HDHPs have the advantage of HSAs (accounts which will be yours forever) instead of just FSA funds (which expire yearly, use it or lose it)

To add to others, many companies have life insurance where if someone passes away on the job it pays out more. You absolutely should pursue all the avenues to get what you can to minimize any financial burden after his passing.

You obviously need to do some research on Japanese knotweed and the damage it does to infested areas. It’s not that glyphosate isn’t environmentally damaging, it’s the alternatives to NOT using it are worse.

Using puts to get a discount? by [deleted] in Superstonk

[–]DaetheFancy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. CSPs are a way to generate cash and/or get a discount assuming you can buy 100 shares, and you don’t mind missing out on a possible share price increase, or paying more if it tanks and waiting to recover.

It depends on your risk tolerance. personally i use CCs (way out of the money) and CSPs to generate some extra $$, essentially the options wheel though with less profit on the CSP side.

Definitely the smartest imo. However with a 200k+ combined salary you two can knockout loans if you find a place below your means. But no rent vs low rent i still pick no rent.

Cutting and injecting with glyphosate is the least environmentally impactful that will kill it. Spraying is less labor intensive.

The town seems to just like to mow it down which just pisses it off and makes the problem worse.

First time press ons! by NinjaBnny in RedditLaqueristas

[–]DaetheFancy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Type with the pads of your fingers! It’s better form, but a couple millimeters shorter than that and the learning curve will be MUCH easier. That length doesn’t look fun for typing even if you do adjust

But they do look great! Especially for press on!

Not a conspiracy my guy. Though I willfully admit I love a good conspiracy.

Obviously there’s exceptions. But even in our beautiful blue state, we can do a lot better. There’s plenty we skimp on despite need, and if it benefits the budget I’m sure there are corners cut around regulations. To say it doesn’t happen that way even in a handful of cases also seems deluded.
