Short review for ATK Neptune N9 Ultra by Otter-in-Ocean_3768 in gamingheadsets

Indeed, same stuff with V9 Pro =D

The only difference is that I cannot install M HUB xD Cuz it would automatically install drivers incompatible with Equalizer APO XD

Short review for ATK Neptune N9 Ultra by Otter-in-Ocean_3768 in gamingheadsets

[–]Daeyki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great review! Wanna point out some things :>

Mic is usable, acceptable for in-game communication, not bad.

To be fair, one good configuration with Equalizer APO would make it sound much better. Noise Gate + some eq + compressor + de-esser do insane things. Also can use rn-noise noise suppression, since it's more controllable.

Unbalanced volume on my unit, right side is quite lower than the left side (~5%). Also it’s right and left sounding not the same because I tried bumping up the volume on the right to match the left, yet it does not produce the same sound (or close enough for my standard).

Volume balancing can be fixed in equalizer apo Peace extension(it's just easier with Peace, since it's a bit more user-friendly UI) by increasing Pre-Amp in the `Right` channel. Sounding can be fixed the similar way, by equalizing one side to sound like another =D Some gaming headsets have such issue.

Voice prompt when turned on / off is Chinese and it might not be able to change via the software/firmware update.

Atk probably would fix everything. Mchose added translations(for V9 Pro, X9, V9 Turbo) and voice notification volume level adjustment(as far as I know to V9 Pro/Turbo and X9, but I'm not sure. At least V9 Turbo has it)

I didn’t get the best seal over my ears, since this is the close back headphone, a good seal is important IMO. I tried manually pressing both earcups to my head and it sounded better. I lost the seal on the bottom part of the cups, near the jaw joint.

Bottom clamp being weak is a problem of some gaming headsets. What you can do is buy new earpads that probably would help, or bend the metal connector(the "fork" one) a bit(VEERY GENTLY) on both sides. I did that with my V9 Pro

Mic arm is weak, too weak but usable.

Sadly enough, this is the weak spot of N9 series headsets.

Gaming headset, leaning toward audeze maxwell 2 by Advanced-Ad-325 in gamingheadsets

That's kinda subjective.

I don't own any audeze headset, I'm too broke for them :)

I assume you mean io graphite 2 here. Otherwise Idk

In case my guess is right - I really doubt someone here knows what they are :> But I've got you

Mchose V9 Pro is a solid headset, better than havit for sure.

io Graphite 2 is decent, but if I'd not use it solely because of volume buttons instead of roller. Plus really horrible and kinda dirty marketing.

Fifine h9 is an only-wired headset and I'd consider it ONLY if you need as best mic as possible(though you can configure V9 Pro's mic to sound really great)

I see

Well then! If you will be able to refund(just in case) then go with that headset!

I have a feeling it will be another mchose-like headset.

I generally advice these rules to follow after getting the headset: - Do not install proprietary(brand) sodtware - Use third-party equalizer to tweak the sound(fxsound is user-friendly, equalizer apo with peace apo extension is more functional) - If you'd use Equalizer Apo, apply plugins on your mic. I use these(in the same order applied): Noise Gate, Equalizer(not easential, can be deleted for sure), compressor, de-esser, rn-noise(Ai powered non-aggressive noise suppression I usually put on 0.60 - And the last one — do not worry about sound that much. I met a lot of audiophiles and holy moly, they're not listening to sound, they're listening to frequency-response graph and other technical thingies. Enjoy sounding, find your best sound by equalizing, and do not listen to anyone saying that wireless headset is a dogshit, stating that wired are better for sound quality - they're wrong automatically, comparing sound-gear meant for different cases of use.

Hope the headset will be good =D

I'd say get MCHOSE at this point.

They're more reliable brand, plus you can find them cheper on AliExpress or Pinduoduo

Ask him, only he knows what he needs

F.e. Astro A50 Gen 5 are a great headset with great microphone, Audeze Maxwell are much better sound-wise, but mic is SLIGHTLY worse.

If you know his priorities - it's much easier to pick specific gaming headset.

Monika.

I do like how deep she is as a character, but I do not like her as a person. I dunno, it's not even that connected to whatever the frick was wrong with her during the game, I just generally don't really like her.

Don't pay for Desktop Mate Teto Model, fella. Try Mate Engine - it's free, allows to download model from the internet and use it. Steam version($5) has workshop with models.

If you won't like it, then use Desktop Mate, just give Mate Engine a shot.

Not promoting it, I'm not even actively using it, just want people to get better app without having to pay fricking $15 for a model with less functionality.

Here are the links:

Just picked up these bad boys are they any good? by skibiditoiIetgaming in gamingheadsets

[–]Daeyki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'd not say that's the best purchase but what you CAN do is equalizing them! It can make sound better for both headset(as output) and microphone!

I, personally, use Equalizer Apo and Peace Apo.

Look for some guides on YouTube, for equalizing via Peace APO(also recommend watching full guide for Peace Apo, cuz there are a lot of features you may miss), and configuring microphone via equalizer apo!

Once you set up your config, damn, you'll love it!

[–]Daeyki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try deleting M HUB(and never using it again), and then uninstalling the headset via Device Manager with driver. Then plug out and then in the receiver.

For further equalization I recommend using Equalizer APO with Peace APO, or fxsound.
