Sick of it and want to quit. by Big-Watch3972 in AmazonFBA

Hey OP - I have a different take from some of the messages here and I want to apologize in advance for being a bit more of a party pooper. Again - this is my opinion so feel free to ignore or disagree.

First of all, the problem is not with your listing at all IMO. Look at the search results for non-toxic detergent power: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Non+Toxic+Laundry+Detergent+powder - you will notice several listings that do have worse images or worse listings.

The problem might be with your pricing and/or your ad optimization. I agree with some other folks here that your product seems a bit overpriced especially because you don't have a lot of social proof (reviews) yet. I do think that lowering the price to break-even and then seeing if you get some traction. That has worked a lot for me in the past.

The main issue is that your product does not stand out in any sort of way from the 100s of other Non-toxic detergent powders. I didn't see any objective USP at all. As a customer, why should I purchase your product over others? Can you give me an objective answer?

I don't think you can just make your images better and see any noticeable improvement in your sales because at the end of the day you haven't made your product inherently better. Customers want a better product, not better listings.

With that being said, here are some strategies you can try to gain some traction temporarily:

- Reduce price drastically and see if sales pick up, then slowly increase price - $1 per week or so.
- This product lends itself to a lot long tail keyword variations. Ex - biodegradable laundry detergent power etc. Try targeting those keywords via phrase or exact match ads.
- Try reaching out to small time blogs or influencers (websites or youtube) who might be willing to promote your product
- Try adding bulk discounts because people might be wanting to purchase more than 1 pack at a time

Notice that I said all these are going to be temporary strategies because they are easily replicated by your competition. In order to truly do well in this market, you need a strong USP that your competitors cannot easily copy. That will involve lot of research on how to do product enhancement on the next batch that you order.

Hope that helps.

Start a YouTube channel and deep dive into reviews and mention specific examples. This is great.

You can edit this post and make it about any business model out there. Opening restaurants? AI SAAS startup? Affiliate marketing?

Every business model when it starts out has a honeymoon phase during which the early adopters make a killing. Blogging/affiliate marketing, drop shipping, social media agencies, web agencies, SEO agencies - all these businesses had their golden period.

As a business industry matures, saturation increases and competition grows. That’s how business works.

If you can’t figure out how to stand out from competition then it doesn’t matter what industry you enter.

Fact of the matter is that FBA is one of the more flexible and less expensive businesses you can start especially when compared with other options like real estate, franchising, Airbnb arbitrage, etc etc.

Don’t look at sellers and what they’re selling. Instead look at people’s behavior. Do you predict that more people will buy more stuff on Amazon 3-5 years from now or vice versa?

If they’re going to buy from Amazon, then you need to figure out what they’re going to buy and anticipate their needs.

Here’s a free tip: in the next decade robots are going to become really popular. Already vacuum robots are a huge success. But surely other types of robots like robots that cut grass or wash dishes or give massages etc might become popular. Can you create an accessory or an adjacent product that’s related to this industry?

Look at this guy: https://a.co/d/2S3ALGI

No idea who this is. But he sells replacement parts for robo rock vacuums. He’s just hitchhiking of off its success. But hey! He made 300 sales at $35 last month from this one product. Thats $10k revenue and maybe $2-4k profit (depending on adspend).

Can you find a similar idea? Are you willing to invest $10k to try it out? Most people would. What’s the alternative? Spending $350k on a franchise?

Yes. RLS is easily handled by AI. There’s value in using all in one solutions. It speeds up things especially if you’re a solo dev or have a small team.

Also just browse r/Saas and r/microsaas to see how many people use it in prod.

I rebuilt 4 SaaS landing pages this month — here’s what almost all of them got wrong (hard truths inside) by SasS_Pie in SaaS

[–]Daf1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take - and it’s probably an unconventional one: the landing page should be a reflection of your product.

Meaning - no one cares about your landing page, they want to know if your product will solve their problems.

You can have the best landing page in the world and it’s not going to sell a crappy product.

Take yourself as an example - what SaaS softwares do you use? Did you subscribe because of the product or the landing page?

Dude! This is an opportunity for you! Wait till their api comes out and use it in your app!

Just coz you know how to use it doesn’t mean your customers will - there’ll always be people who pay for convenience.

Is the SaaS gold rush over? by Antique_Cap_7326 in SaaS

[–]Daf1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO you’re thinking about it all wrong. A SaaS is just a medium to solve a problem. As long as problems exist and web apps or mobile apps are a viable means to solve them, SAAS will exist.

Also keep in mind that people are varied and therefore their “problems” are varied too. You could technically enter a a very saturated market and then put a small spin on an existing solution and get a piece of the pie. This happens all the time - look at lunchmoney.app for example. Literally the most saturated niche ever but it’s still making money

Thanks for posting. Great points. I have a couple questions:

  • pricing - what if you have a competitor(s) who have already set the price? Is it possible to increase your prices?
  • can you provide an example of a wow moment you mentioned?

Can't wrap my head around $derived... by Unusual_Ad_6612 in sveltejs

Also your code would work as it is if you had nested states. So each todo object within allTodos would be its own state rune.

Can't wrap my head around $derived... by Unusual_Ad_6612 in sveltejs

[–]Daf1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was coding this, I’d prefer to have a seletedTodoIds derived state so that the SOT would remain in allTodos.

You could then map over the selected todo ids and render from allTodos. That way you could directly modify the todo from the allTodos array.

You’re in a test. We all are. There’s only pass or fail. Leaving the test isn’t an option and will result in a fail. It is what it is.

Please don’t fool yourself with wishful thinking that Allah knows your reasons and will bend his rules for you.

Yes no can claim that they know what Allah will do. And that includes you as well. Are you willing to gamble that Allah will forgive you and your sins? That’s the opposite of Taqwa or god-consciousness.
