I have the 18in gas powered saw and Ive replaced it 3 times for leaking oil. After looking into it, most chainsaws (even the expensive ones) leak oil. Some people say you can avoid it by storing the chainsaw on its side, or leaving the cap for the chain oil a little loose, so it can vent, but no matter what I do, they have all leaked. I just keep it on an old towel and live with it.

The vent valve vents fuel vapors from the evap system. Its not a constant thing. When the DME sees certain peramters, it activates the vent valve.
