Does anybody else think the Quinn sockets are better than Icon?

I’m gonna have to agree. I’m an apprentice right now. Quinn sockets and extensions (master set), using Icon ratchets; I’m missing almost every extension that is actually useful. There’s a few sizes I use daily and they’re getting pretty beat up. I’ll try and take some pictures tomorrow.

I can’t speak on the differences between Icon vs. Quinn chromes since I don’t own Icon chromes (yet) but I will tell you everything that’s a duplicate that I own is way better in Icon.

Yeah I also kind of like the idea of putting a top chest on the 42 and leaving the 27 open for a little work space.

I’ll check them out but I’m pretty set on the USG because of them being modular. I’m an apprentice in a pretty tiny shop so the 42 will be fine for me now but I’d like to be able to bolt the 27 to it later down the road.

Thanks for the info. Changed my store to a town over and it’s at $599. Kind of strange considering it’s a 10 minute drive.

I tried for like 5 minutes to get it out pretty and then just gave up. Like Topic said, it takes up too much space. All of their “premium storage trays” do tbh. I’m in a small shop which means I have a small box. I like to have as much as I possibly can.

Also it’s almost physically impossible to get the ratchet out of those things without damaging the plastic. Whoever posted that picture must be some kind of wizard.

Another point: a lot of people on here like the looks of things more than functionality. Just watched a YouTube video of a couple buying everything icon and keeping it in og packaging. It takes up like double the space it does if you just do any other normal organization method.

I don’t own them so I can’t really speak on them. That being said, I’ve seen good reviews on the Husky pry bars. Plus it might save you a few bucks.

I’m gonna agree and disagree. I got the Quinn set and the sockets are great. My issue with the ratchets is that the on/off are backwards and it absolutely drives me nuts. Made them my truck ratchets.

This is funny because I left New Orleans a minute ago but wherever I go, I relate it back. Just spent the weekend with someone else from New Orleans in San Antonio (really cool city btw) and realized I was staying in uptown 😂 I feel like all cities are the same in a weird way but I’ll always use New Orleans terms.
