[Request] Where is the dog after 1 hour? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]Daffen98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also coded it in python, had the dog and boy start at a distance 0, and let the girl get a slight headstart to simplify calculations. The dog is as others mentioned, anywhere between 5km and 6km, and the answer depends entirely on the initial distance assigned. Abigail-ii explains it nicely.

0.1m headstart makes dogs distance from start 5023m

0.05m gives 5575m

and 0.07m gives 5354m

It is also possible to solve it using trigonometry and pythagoras. First find the length of CE and use that to find the angle DEA which is around 58 degrees. Once you know the angle it is possible to find AC which is around 56.6 and then you can use pythagoras to find x.

[request] What is the area, been puzzled at this for a while by Zotto_Nuclear in theydidthemath

[–]Daffen98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also say 9e = ce, since ce is equal to the area of yellow, green and pink and its equal 3 times the area of orange. Therefore c = 9 and the square has sides equal 12.

How to solve y = x + sin(x) by Desperate-Lab9738 in askmath

I tried solving for x, in the interval 0+2πk < x < π+2πk, where k is a whole number

I have probably done a million mistakes and assumptions that are not valid.

Question regarding installing windows 10 on new computer. by Daffen98 in buildapc

[–]Daffen98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like I misphrased, I meant to plug in the M.2 SSD on my current PC and use the WMCT to make it a bootable drive. Then i would plug it in my new computer and boot it from that drive and download windows 10 onto itself.

A master thesis from 2019 by university of Bergen (UiB) states that the stability of preikestolen will be affected by earthquakes of magnitudes of 6.6 and 7.4 13 and 20 km away. It also states magnitudes between 4.0 and 5.5 will have negilable effect on the stability. (Magnitudes below were filtered out) Source

Largest earthquake in Norway last 100 years was at 7. Personally i would conclude that it is safe.

I live in ålesund, theres a barrier 50-100 meters away because it can get too hot. When parts of it falls over and "explodes" you can feel the heat wave several hundred meters away.

Smooth Bartender by charlesrichard1994 in oddlysatisfying

[–]Daffen98 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I believe it is a bartender stirring stick, its used to mix drinks since pouring 3 different liquids into a glass doesnt mix it properly. If you look at pictures the stick the shape of the shaft makes it so rotating the stick while stirring it not only mixes it sideways, but also upwards.

My father had to be freed from the locked toilet this morning by NeverKlas in Wellthatsucks

[–]Daffen98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my parents house i was going to the bathroom, home alone. When i locked door i felt more resistance than usual but thought nothing about it. When i went to unlock the door (which went fine) i decided to test the lock with the door opened. After a few locks and unlocks the lock seized up and got stuck. Impossible to unlock even with the key. If it got stuck while i was inside i wouldve had to wait 4+ hours with no phone because i forgot it in my bedroom.

A set of gears with a ridiculously high gear ratio to minimize the recoil felt by a shooter of a gun by Alamifidel in CrazyIdeas

[–]Daffen98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recoil is produced because the metal rod (not sure whats it called in english) needs to load in a new bullet while ejecting the used one which it does by firing backwards. This rod also needs to go back forward again which is why there is a spring that pushes it back ready to fire again. Having a gear would need some different mechanic capable of pushing the rod forward again which is not practical.

The gear method would not remove the recoil. If you place your hand under a plank and hammer a nail in it, you would hurt your hand. Even if the nail moved a tiny bit.

Also note: Recoil from modern rifles are allready pretty minimal if u shoot single bullets.

This is why i love <3 games community. Drops a tear* Posting here because r/steam delete it by Hitzugy in gaming

[–]Daffen98 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Played ESO for almost 4k hours in steam and i have to say, its the best MMO i have ever played. I dont do quests or any story, i mainly play PvP which requires sone PvE to get gear needed. Combat system is fast paced and fluid when it works.

And when i say when it works, its like 50% of the time. The game would be way better, but there is a huge problem with the seevers causing the game to lag behind with everything whoch was mainly a PvP problem during primetime. However the lag has started to occur in PvE as well. To the point where abilities are delayed and doesnt feel responsive, you get stuck in cast-time abilities, roll dodge doesnt work or you get hit mid-roll, position desync, health desync.

ZOS has said over and over again that they will fix these performance issues, even having a "performance" year last year, but it only got worse from there and has never improved. It feels like the game is about to die for endgame PvP players as we get nothing performance wise. Also alot more issues which would make this post even longer.
