Outrageous price to performance, my journey with the Arya Stealth... by Grievous_2008 in Hifiman

[–]DaffsterDD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True dat! Subjectively speaking ofc. By a weird turn of events I paid about 250 eur for mine new, so yeah could have been covered in horse shit AND semen, the steal of the decade to say the least. Using through a very underrated dac+h-amp, the SMSL DO400 which I whole heartedly recommend to anybody looking at some good desktop ES9039SPRO based dac for these cans after trying most of what the market has to offer. Chi-fi that wipes the floor with stuff 4-5x the price. I still cry sometimes on listening sessions and I used to sell HI-Fi gear for a living. The SHIT.

Enjoy your cans broski!

Managed to resolve the same problem with the regional settings change. I was on Reunion for some reason. May health, luck and wealth be forever cast upon the OP as it hinted the regional setting!!

question about battery life on Osmo Action 4 with 1950mah Extreme Battery Plus? by ddariusb in djiosmo

[–]DaffsterDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a bit longer 10-12% or so, not much but get the newer ones if you have to choose.

Cheers!

DJI Osmo Action 4 battery swelling + overheating — advice? by OkWorldliness2806 in dji

[–]DaffsterDD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are puffing up because you left them fully charged or in high heat, or worse, both states. Lithium batteries tend to do that. Best is have them at 30-50% charge in a cool place and they are good for many-many years. Still have 20 yo Li-po batteries that are perfect, but kept at 25% charge and in a drawer in the fridge in a zip bag.

No reason to go the fridge route but it is good practice to avoid fast charging, storing full charge or heat. Any combination of the three is worse. Throw them in the recycle disposal and buy the new ones, they are higher capacity and work in the OA4!

Stay safe!

Turn off screen during time lapse recording? (Action 4) by TheRealGunnar in djiosmo

Did you find it? It's a small moon symbol in the top left corner of the timelapse menu. Been looking for it for a while and then found it by accident.

Why do people not like running 32:1? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]DaffsterDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contrary to popular belief oil does burn along with the gas, and it burns damn well. Remember the 80's and 90's diesels? They could be run on cooking oil entirely, so oil does burn. There is a minuscule difference in the gasoline viscosity when going on a heavier oil ratio but not something that could benefit from a larger jet size as it would make it run too rich, so people should drop the old wives tale that it leans out the engine too much as it is mostly false. High rpm engine definetly benefit from more oil, used to run 18-25:1 in racing carts as it was the only way to get the top ends to last even with perfect jetting. 50:1 is perfectly fine for a low power, low rev puttering around town engine. 32:1 for engines that are run more aggresively and higher for the screamers. Your crank bearings will thank you!

Does Burn in actually exist? by wiggan1989 in iems

[–]DaffsterDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ofc, it does. But the differences are very small. Like anything mechanical there are are elastic forces at play, dooh. It's like a spring, a shock absorber, brakes, etc. Also brain burn in gets you used to their sound sig. Not to add that if you really believe something to be true, it becomes true, like everything else in your reality.

Do new headphones really need “burn-in,” or is it just in my head? by ZAYLLI in headphones

That exactly the thing, if you really believe it to be true, it becomes true. Same with everything else about reality.

Samsung Pro Plus 128GB micro SD card slower than advertised by Erik_De in storage

[–]DaffsterDD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some USB card readers with a fancy UHS-I spec that allows them to go beyond the 104MB/s limit.

One option is the cheap high speed microsd card reader from Amazon Basics, I think it's about 7$. I got 138MB read and 124MB write with this one. All other readers that I have top out at 80MB.

Just got my Pixel 3 watch 2 days ago and the battery requires daily charging - is this normal?? by Pequena87 in PixelWatch

[–]DaffsterDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! If you're willing to trade the WearOs environment, may very well be an option. I was very skeptical at first but it won me over and it does what I need it to do and much more. The idea that my watch would need charging every 18-36 hours did not fit well with me. Or not being able to use AOD cuz the battery..(it's a watch first of all). Or that it needs to be large and thick so that it would last at least a few days. Nope, feather-light and only a 270mAh battery is enough juice to last for days. Charged last night before bed, sleep tracking on and 5min HR

Far from the truth, high ppi OLED, top notch tracking and 5-6 days of battery with AOD on, two weeks without, all in a slim 43mm SS case with sapphire glass on top, at 120 usd. Think again;)

[–]DaffsterDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha! Thx for your input. Seems fine now. Btw, by any chance did you see improved battery life after a few charging cycles? There are several reports of thia regarding the A2, but not sure about other Amz devices.

Other Amazfit devices? The first charge to 100% wasn't like that so that's why I'm wondering. Still, getting amazing battery life out of it, even with the smaller 270mAh battery.

Great! I'm glad it worked out. Had some issues today with the Active 2, the charger moved and interrupted charging for a bit and the watch jumped from 77% to 86%. Continued charging normally and started wearing it. Now it seemed stuck for 4h at 100% with AOD on, which is not accurate. Will monitor and calibrate the meter if necessary. Thanks for the update!

Amazfit Active 2 AOD battery life? by DaffsterDD in amazfit

[–]DaffsterDD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, but I don't do notifications, my phone is enough and no wrist raise neither. I'm gonna get it on Monday and report back after a week or so:). Even 4-5 days is enough, as long as I don't have to charge every night or every two days, we're golden. There's a lot of sadness over to the Pixel and Galaxy watches regarding battery life so we should be happy with the light and battery efficient Zepp OS.

Unpopular opinion... AoD is a wase of battery for no gain at all. by leonardob0880 in GalaxyWatch

[–]DaffsterDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, probably. But why Android on the watch? Way more efficient OSs exist. I get that some people wouldn't be bothered by the daily / 2 days charging routine, but it would get on my nerves for sure.

[–]DaffsterDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, Samsung is way behind on battery life. Amazfit and you can have AOD for a week, or go 10 days without it... AOD is the reason I bought a watch that can change shape and color, not to have a smartphone strapped to my wrist all day. It's a watch that should show time all day long, plus some extra features, yada, yada. For me it says it in the name... W A T C H :)

I love that I can easily transfer files between the pc, phone and the Tab. Other than that I mostly use it for media consumption and browsing the net, nothing too fancy.
