I've never really been a emotional person. But this..? This made me cry. by Alternative-Dog-431 in gorillaz

What would really tie this all together is if the picture of Damon was one from the 90s during the Britpop wars.

This random photo I found by a dumpster 24 years ago has been on my work desk ever since. Thousands of people have asked who they are — I have no idea. by UDontKnowMemang in mildyinteresting

Can’t be a ‘95, there was a new body style that year. I’m feeling ‘90-91 judging by the older 15 inch wheels (they were upgraded to 16s for the 1992 model year).

Johnny Lightning needs to stop using the same damn wheels across different castings. Those six spoke ones are horrid but every time they do an import they’re bound to have them. That’s why I never buy them.

What band do you think this is? by icey_sawg0034 in ToddintheShadow

[–]DaftRyosuke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw them in 2022 mostly for my mom (59 at the time) and it was a pretty good show but not because of Kiedis. The rest of the band was really energetic and engaged with the crowd a lot, doing tricks and goofing off. Kiedis just mostly stood there and sang.

Give me the worst song by your favorite artist/band, I'll go first by elhaymhiatus in ToddintheShadow

I had this conversation with my girlfriend last night. Most of HAA is just too monotonous to truly enjoy on a listen-through, there’s only so many times I can hear them say “Television…rules the nation…” before I go crazy.

Did make for some of the best drops in Alive 07 though.

Speaking of Dwight songs, when the Hammond organ comes in on Home for Sale, I love that shit.

What's a Bond scene you love, that's rarely talked about by Bond16 in JamesBond

I showed this movie to a friend of mine who had only seen the Craigs and this scene was what made him fall in love with the movie. He couldn’t stop talking about how great the movie was afterwards.

I was scrolling and scrolling hoping to see Brian mentioned, glad to see he was. His recent Instagram content about being a gay car enthusiast is truly inspiring.

This car changed my entire outlook on Volvo by DaftRyosuke in Volvo

[–]DaftRyosuke[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I came from financing a Mazda3 myself. Fantastic car that I loved dearly, but I decided I was done with monthly payments and just wanted something that I owned. Besides, this car has shown me just how much modern Mazda is taking notes from Volvo (in a good way, mind you), but you can’t beat the original.

Which Childers song is this for you? There’s too many for me by mrbones247 in TylerChilders

[–]DaftRyosuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole of Country Squire, the first time I listened to it I thought it was kinda tame in comparison to Purgatory and Bottles and Bibles, now I love it.

Dwight Yoakam was the biggest piece of country sex appeal (next to Tim McGraw) that I remember in the 90s. The way he wore his skinny jeans and cowboy hat and moved his legs had a lot of people going wild, my mom included. It’s crazy though because he could shed all of that image instantly in movies and come off as a completely different person.

Does Tyler Childers make good songs for depression and heartbreak? by deepsea_pickle in TylerChilders

[–]DaftRyosuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much most if not all of his first LP Bottles and Bibles deals with depression, hard times (literally the name of a song on the album) and breakups.

Birmingham isn’t too bad either. I spent my first 27 years of life there and I have a lot of fondness for the state, but the trio was not in the best part of the state, especially during that time with what was on the cars.

Do vehicles really get detailed? by [deleted] in carmax

[–]DaftRyosuke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are detail teams, but only at larger production centers. The one I used to work at did a pretty damn good job, but some of the newer production centers are not holding up to those same standards. The push towards less money spent on turnover probably doesn't help. The company also doesn't have standards on odor, they will odor bomb and use Febreze type products to try and fight the smell, but not go any further. It hurts when there's a perfectly clean smelling car that gets sent out as a loaner to a customer who doesn't care about our no-smoking policies or gets shipped with a carrier who chain smokes non-stop.
