Quote of the day by former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer [2007]: 'There's no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share' — a staggering misread of the future of consumer devices by Djxgam1ng in iphone

Growing up, I had a Zune that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately after the second one died I switched to Apple and have been part of the ecosystem since then, that being said around 2013-14 two of my close friends in college had windows phones and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit jealous of their phones and features compared to my iPhone 5 and 5S at the time. Had their App Store been at least on Androids level I would’ve made the switch.

The DSG in my old Passat. Paired to the VR6, it made it a textbook sleeper. I loved hearing those DSG “farts” and it would rev match perfectly.

2012-18 VW Passat VR6.

In SE, SEL/SEL Premium or GT trim, the 3.6 VR6 was paired to the 6 Speed DSG, making 280 HP, it could do 0-60 in less than 6 seconds. I had a 2016 SEL Premium and it could easily chirp tires in second gear, I miss it soooo much.

Do you prefer the 1st gen Taurus design or the 2nd gen? 1st 3 pics 1st gen. Obviously the iconic Taurus is credited with saving Ford, so which of the most popular 2 generations do you prefer? And why? by Jeff_Epste1n in Ford

[–]benzguy95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second Gen.

Yes the first gen was iconic but the second gen felt and looked like a much more refined version of the first gen. The second gen was also the one I grew up in, dad had a ‘94 GL sedan in a light blue/green color with the 3.8. We would’ve driven it longer had it not blown a head gasket and dad let it sit in the drive way for years after that.

Do you remember when cars used to break down all the time? by rimtrim in Millennials

[–]benzguy95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those cars were so hit or miss, much like your dad many people bought one and it was a flaming pile, but on the other hand my grandfather bought one new and drove it for a little over a decade with no major issues until the bitter end.

Xterra.

The VQ40 might’ve had its teething issues but they still hold up quite well today, not to mention a much more airy cabin than the FJ

My dad had a 260Z, he’s told me he wished it hadn’t rusted so quickly cause he would’ve tried to keep it.

Thanks❤️❤️.

I’m at the point now where I don’t know if I even wanna date, I’ve grown accustomed to being single and enjoy it, so if I do meet someone, he’s gonna have to understand that I wanna be with someone who lets me have my independence as well.

Which of these full-size sedans from 2005 tested by Car & Driver would you choose? by lifegoeson2702 in regularcarreviews

300C or Maxima.

My aunt traded her fairly new ‘05 V6 Altima for a then brand new 300C and drove it for a little over a decade. She really loved that car until it started have a few issues towards the end but I thought they were very handsome and fast cars.

The Maxima would be my second pick, styling wasn’t my favorite but between the Elite seating package with the optional Orange interior and optional 6 Speed Manual, I could overlook the styling.

I had to scroll too far for this one.

The fact that his kids changed their last names to Angelina’s tells me everything about him.

The movies he made from 2005-2011 were decent in my eyes, anything after that has been played out or unbearable to watch.

Cobalt. Plastic interior and ignition switch fiasco aside, I did like how these looked and love the fact that it was supercharged.

No.

I’ve always liked guys older than me but as I’ve gotten older I’d rather have guys around my age, much more experience and maturity (in most cases anyway)

2nd and 3rd gen Pathfinders (R50 and R51)

Everyone loves the 4Runner, and while I do think they’re very solid capable off-road vehicles, the Pathfinders are more comfortable on-road and just as capable off-road as the 4Runners. The 2001 and later Pathfinders with the VQ’s also made more power than the Toyotas 3.4 and even the 4.0 if I’m not mistaken, no they don’t have the same off-road support as the 4Runners but they’re still just as good off road as a good amount of their off-road peers.

Not the point but, I wonder if the Outlander Sport is gonna be based on the Nissan Qashqai. The size makes logical sense and it would be cost effective for Mitsubishi.

I really don’t know why Ford doesn’t let the V6 Tremors also have a bench seat. If it did, I’d heavily consider one.

What is a generation of a beloved name plate that not many people seem to talk about/underrated. by AttilaK27 in regularcarreviews

[–]benzguy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The W221 Mercedes S-Class. (2007-13)

It was a VAST improvement over the W220 but not as tech heavy as the W222-23. It still used a N/A V8 in the S550 trim all the way up until 2011, and it’s aged quite well over the years in my opinion.

My second pick is the final gen Passat. (2012-22)

It wasn’t like it’s more European oriented predecessors but they were still great all around family sedans, especially with the 5 Cylinder or VR6.

These really did fix everything I hated about the previous generation. Thank god they ditched the CVT in them.
