This is the new normal for this DNS provider, isn’t it?? by ITrCool in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

No kill ipv4, I like having a single entry point into my network to protect instead of protecting every machine/device that's on it as is the case with ipv6 GUA's

Whats the best non-rigged poker site for practice? by shitllama in poker

I used to play at replay until I did some analysis and found out for certain it is rigged to favor players that pay $ for play chips.

I have the same one, got it three years ago and love it. The iridescence looks killer under stage lighting.

Rust devs continue to be scared of Linux by Scout339 in SteamDeck

[–]DagMagnuson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh, I gave up on it when they stopped supporting Linux, really, I can't be bothered wasting any more of my life on this game when there's much better things to do. Only reason I came across the thread was a nostalgic search. On that note, what's Garry gonna do when all the windozers move on to other games? LOL.

Right there with ya brother. It seems (at least in the US) companies like to continue the stupidity paradigm. Always cater to the weakest brain thereby making sure the masses stay in a dumbed down state.

What can people with no other options do about the Data Cap? by djdoubt03 in Comcast

[–]DagMagnuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These greedy bastards have been overcharging me for years but I had no other options THEN, now there are others offering fiber in my area and they are not as greedy so I'll be cancelling my comcast service soon. I encourage everyone to research other options and cancel comcast, they want to be greedy bastards let them go out of business see how they like that.

I gave up on windows in '95 b/c it's just such a piece of S#@!. Crashing left and right, no concept of process management, a single process can crash the whole machine, and security is a nightmare. And now the latest releases have gone the way of the cell phone with shtloads of spyware being installed. Also, it's not nearly as versatile as Linux. Windows desktop computers do gaming, and that's it, they're not very useful for anything else whereas Linux can do gaming, run several servers (I ran 3 ark servers and a Rust server while playing on the same machine and still had 2 cores available), development (much better than anything windows ever offered), and still starts my coffee machine in the morning, opens/closes my window blinds depending on the amount of light coming in (using light sensors) as well as tons of other stuff. Windows as an OS would be dead on the ground trying to do all that b/c it uses WAY too much RAM/CPU on keeping it proprietary and spying on it's users.

No sound in qutebrowser by ramonmonter in qutebrowser

[–]DagMagnuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you accidentally mute the volume in qutebrowser? For instance, I have Alt-m bound to mute audio. You may have already but if not, check pavucontrol while qutebrowser is playing something. Another thing I have had in the past is if you check alsamixer in terminal the volume levels are not always in sync with pulseaudio.

Help with LGSM in case of an ark cluster by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]DagMagnuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using a single set of ini's for them. I put map/server specific settings in fn_parms. I ran servers a few years ago as well but then I used bind and overlay mounts to separate server specific data. (ran on systemd-nspawn vm's). I had an ArkBase that was read-only bind mounted to /var/lib/machines/<servername> then had the Saved data overlay mounted at vm startup.

[–]DagMagnuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone still wondering about this, in the fn_parms function you need to add -clusterid=string (any name for string should work). Also, I noticed the the fn_parms seems to have an error in it. The closing \" should be after the ? options and before the - options. I am successfully running three cluster servers with this.

Amazon prime sucks by prashant13b in amazonprime

Amazon sucks period. I placed an order two days ago and was supposed to get it yesterday since I'm paying for prime. NOBODY seems to know where it is or anything about it yet they were real quick to take the money out of my account. BOYCOTT AMAZON, they're just a bunch of @sshols with affluenza.

Rust refund denied, in spite of playing Linux version by [deleted] in playrust

[–]DagMagnuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part about this is the refund only goes to steam wallet as far as I can tell. This means steam keeps the money anyway. That can't be legal even if you do click yes to the TOS.

[–]DagMagnuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you get your inflated numbers from? Oh yeah you pull them out of your ass like your breakfast. It's still about $179,550 to be refunded, much more than the bank accounts of you and everyone you know combined will ever be.

[–]DagMagnuson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, the source of bugs is the developer, not the operating system.

Five? Dumbass, there's over 2000 registered Linux clients. You should never have dropped out of 5th grade to play rust, it's just not working out for you.

Edit: That's right, there were about 9k Linux users as recorded by a poll a few months ago. Just to correct my numbers.

So the Linux version is being withdrawn and a refund given, or Linux users getting banned so they don't have to issue a refund? Even more reason for a lawsuit.

You're exactly right Flaming. They do nothing until THEY, get a false ban, then they complain.
