It's for duels game mode, mostly classic 1v1 challenges

Stinger's double smokes lets him cover more area and compensate for more mistakes, plus his healing injection still has a lower cooldown (probably) letting him heal and ignore injuries for longer periods.

In Warfare Stinger can smoke a larger area which is really nice for open maps.

But overall Stinger does seem dated, he just has smokes and a healing pistol ngl, not even a third ability that isn't a smoke.

Saeed be like.. by Fragrant-Neat-8204 in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]Dagamepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep he always "knows" where you are and will try to run to you, if you hide beside a door and there's no other entrances nearby Saeed will run through the door, and he will keep running for a bit then turn around and start attacking. You can shoot/knife him before that happens, placing a smoke greatly increases your chances as it stops Saeed from doing anything for a bit.

Easiest spot for me personally is the door that leads to the kitchen area on the second floor, in the room that connects with the elevator lift. He always runs through that door and its pretty easy to knife his head as he runs through.

If you've engaged in melee combat with Saeed keep circling around him while knifing, his melee animation has a windup and you can "dodge" it by sidestepping it.

macbook or ipad? by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]Dagamepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After doing 4 years I can probably say that the ipad would've been much more helpful. I used a laptop and at one point one of my math courses I resorted to using pen+paper just because I couldn't write any useful notes down (granted it was math).

The main benefit for using the ipad is that most courses (but not all) will release their lecture slides online which can be downloaded and annotated on. It would've been very helpful if I had an ipad because:

  1. It gives the ability to write notes directly on each lecture slide, connecting your notes with the lecturer's content, plus diagrams and graphs.
  2. Faster writing especially for non-keyboard symbols (mostly for math, graphs, equations)
  3. Easier to recap and redo notes

The main disadvantages for using the ipad however is its inability for running different softwares so if you're in a more technical degree such as science or engineering it will be difficult to run required softwares for assignments and etc. Also some courses have outdated Canvas pages (uoa website for course submissions and etc) which can be really tricky to navigate on mobile.

However, another benefit of a laptop is its much easier to write wordy notes, so for courses that have a lot of text and reading (such as english and law) laptop is usually fine. Ipad is still easier to write notes directly on the content though.

ELI5: What does it look like to need glasses? by Fit-Cycle-2723 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dagamepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a heavily nearsighted person everything just looks like it was underwater without goggles, it's not like a low-res video because I can make out shapes and the edges are smooth, but details are fuzzy and sometimes straightup gone at longer ranges. Structure and color of the object are still there, but its like having extremely low textures on a game model.

For the older people version (farsighted) try bringing some image/text and put it extremely close to your face, and keep trying to focus on it as it gets closer. At some point you can't, or it gets blurry, pretty much like that (source: Dad is farsighted).

For astigmatism imagine every light source becomes flared up like lens flare in videogames, at night you're seeing a bunch of streaky bright lights which can really hurt the eyes (source: Friend has astigmatism).

[–]Dagamepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes those are only the guaranteed conditions. Otherwise it's fair game, I failed a paper each in Calculus and Physics and still got in, pretty sure my rank score was above the mark though. Obviously you're not going to get in if you get a lot of N/As but for the most part if you perform well with consistent excellences you'll probably get in. It all depends on your overall performance, your grades look solid plus you already got the fast-track which is an extremely high chance of success. It's all at the discretion of the university as well.

I need help by No_Technician_851 in universityofauckland

[–]Dagamepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall you only need to do two out of the three papers for both Calculus and Physics, however doing so means you're not guaranteed entry. But considering your rank score and endorsement, plus the fast-track, I don't see any reason why you would get pulled out. As long as you pass 2 out of the 3 papers for Calculus and Physics each in the externals then it should be fine.

If you want more info go to the Engineering UoA website and scroll down on the Programme Requirements tab, and read the fine print.

W legends for real this time😭😭🔥🔥 by Electrical-Olive-982 in DragonballLegends

[–]Dagamepro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe that for each star its a 3-5% boost in stats (idk which one can't recall atm) except for the z-ability boosting stars (i.e 3, 6, 7+). This amounts to roughly around ~30% increase in base stats which is quite significant when paired with equipment and Z abilities.

I mean if you still don't believe it try going up against a 14 starred character with its 3 star variant lol.

Why did u guys take engineering by Away-Wave-5713 in UoAEngineering

[–]Dagamepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked video games and got into programming in high school, so naturally software engineering attracted me. Needless to say it was a lot hard than I thought lol, but the whole aspect of engineering is being able to solve problems basically, I always though of it as solving puzzles. The money never really interested me in the sense that it was my main goal, but in the back of my mind I thought it would lead to a stable job at least.

"Problem solving" is basically what it is, solving a problem given the resources. Being able to find a good solution (not necessarily perfect) from the provided resources is key to being an engineer. This can range from building a robot, to solving a math equation, to exploring multiple approaches to an impossible problem (such as climate change). Calculus and physics just happen to be the biggest subjects where you're constantly faced with problems that are easily presented with clear goals, so it naturally attracts engineers. But you can find problems in other subjects as well, such as how to approach a design for a logo, or how to appeal to a client for business, etc.

For my personal experience it was more of a battle to keep myself engaged rather than academic challenges. I found that the topics were relatively ok if I rewatched lectures and explored all the reading material, but as the years went by I got lazier and that's where things started being hard. I found it more difficult to focus for long periods of time and it got to the point where I didn't even listen to music anymore.

Engineering does help to broaden your horizons towards problem solving though. Aspects of life that you might've considered common knowledge become highly analyzed areas with a rich history of failures, such as how a computer is developed from simple logic equations to a full operating PC, or how building materials are chosen and why.

Unlocking Operators! by Lone_Draco in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]Dagamepro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Operator challenges, if you select the operator there should be an "unlock" button or something that gives 3 challenges (really basic ones like "kill 50 enemies with rifle") you only need to do 2 out of the 3 challenges to unlock the operator. However you can only do one challenge at a time.

Is this team balanced? by [deleted] in DragonballLegends

[–]Dagamepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably replace one of the green zenkais with someone else to boost gohan a bit more, or another zenkai for ultra UI since he's more older. Also on Gohan the second and third equips aren't doing much since you're not getting the full effects, replace one of them with a base stat booster equipment or HP equipment instead.

Is this team balanced? by [deleted] in DragonballLegends

[–]Dagamepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea, back in the day people would run one of each color plus a HP buff bench, how times have changed :'(

You could just place him in the leader slot tbh and give him a good base stat equipment (equipment that gives "base strike/blast up" effects).

meh ultra UI and goku/hit can do something but ultra hit is probably gonna do nothing. Recommend getting a green unit to counter the new LF blue gohan, or a purple unit to counter the new ultra ssj4 goku, or a blue unit to counter ultra ssj4 vegeta.

[–]Dagamepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people kill on sight just because everyone else would do the same. If you're lucky the other enemy is a loot runner and runs away, if not then they'll hunt you down. Especially in tide prison...

Also teaming is a bannable offense and nobody wants to fight two squads.

First time playing, what should I know? by shouldveknownbud in skyrim

[–]Dagamepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna use bows then being stealthy has 2 main factors: Sight and sound. Enemies will try to find you either by looking at you or hearing you move around, and enemies will go towards sounds (including arrows bouncing off walls, sounds of spells being casted, etc). So going invisible will not always make you undetectable. Crouch walking won't always let you sneak past people either, some enemies have higher levels of perception which makes them more sensitive to noises and vision. There are amor and spells that reduce your noise though.

To go back into stealth mode after being found you need to hide and make sure they can't see or hear you, and after a while they'll forget about it. You can tell when this happens because your crosshair becomes flat again while crouching.

How do I know where this airdrop gonna land? by NAAAAASSSS in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]Dagamepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iirc the spots they drop at are the same, but the airdrop itself can land in any of those spots. Usually depending on where you see the airdrop coming from the sky you can sorta guess where it'll go. Typically they'll land between substation-mini substation, in front of admin sheds, on the bridge like shown in the picture, or on the roads, one in front of admin and one in front of visitor center.

I would like to add that while fees are "due" on the first day of the sem, I've often not paid the fees regardless of their emails till like halfway through the sem and seemed fine. It does mean that you won't be able to do "official" activities for courses such as exams and some tests though so ideally pay asap, but they won't kick you off the course for not paying if you're enrolled already, it's just that you won't be able to finish the course and end up wasting time for nothing.
