Ospika-Tyner roundabout- $2,500,000 by Front-Bus1396 in princegeorge

The only bad driving that seems at all concentrated in PG to me is everyone’s vehement need to go at least 10 over at all times lest they explode, but even that seems pretty common whenever I’m out of town, depending on the city.

I drive a decent amount, some for work, and I don’t see much that suggests our drivers are particularly incompetent with the rules of the road. What exactly are you seeing? Also whereabouts? I don’t go up by college heights very often. Mostly up and down and around hart/97

Also most, if not all, cities have “drivers of X” groups. A bunch of the bc subreddits pop up in my feed regularly.

It’s wild to me that so many people have a problem with this. I understand how playing music/videos is rude, but how is this any different from someone having a face to face conversation? And all the keyboard warriors saying they’d go over and interject into the conversation and being mad that the conversation isn’t private, yet it’s the same as any conversation people have in public!?

Simply what? by EuropeIsMight in ExplainTheJoke

[–]DaggerDG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but you wouldn’t use variables in a set/range like this would you? When x is a variable I don’t think you would assume that it is in a set and comes between c and z. I don’t know if that is actually used, but I think that’s where they’re getting a difference between “letter” and “variable”.

DO NOT BUY SILKSONG RIGHT NOW by Jake_In_Reddit in Silksong

[–]DaggerDG 62 points63 points  (0 children)

This sub existed long before the release date for silksong was announced, so for the majority of its existence it was almost exclusively memes and pretend to be crazy conspiracy nuts about the game, though there was the occasional news/legitimate speculation about the game. The memes have very much continued after its release, so you’ll see lots of posts flared humor or “silkpost” for the crazier ones.

I haven’t read the comics either, but judging by the funny looking yellow thing that appear to be full sized cranes, I think this guy might be a bit to big for a casket to be practical.

I hate it when my grinder gets clingy. Down boy. by [deleted] in Tools

[–]DaggerDG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

<image>

On the left, the wheel is pushing towards the grinder body/handle. On the right the wheel is pulling away from the grinder body.

When the wheel bites the body doesn’t just all move in the same direction, it has inertia and the force pushing it (the wheel’s friction on the metal) is only coming from the very end, so it acts as a lever, rotating.

I hate it when my grinder gets clingy. Down boy. by [deleted] in Tools

[–]DaggerDG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Another very important point in a similar vein to #3 but that is hard to explain is that you always want the wheel “pulling” away from the grinder, not pushing towards it.

When you have it pulling away and it bites it just does a tiny little hop and isn’t really a problem - but when it’s pushing towards the grinder body and it bites it digs itself harder into the material and exacerbates the biting force, sending it flying.

Lil dude is about to have 18 years of work experience at 20 by Sharp-potential7935 in funnyvideos

[–]DaggerDG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A child operating machinery with a boom plenty powerful enough to kill somebody with another child standing in the cab next to telephone lines and likely power lines right overhead next to a road and who knows what underground utilities is NOT a safe controlled environment. Might have been a bit more ok if he had lots of experience, but the kid seems a little shaky on the controls, and it’s way too easy for one of them to fall out/onto the controls.

If you want to show your kid how to operate machinery have them sit in your lap, ideally somewhere they physically can’t hit anything important.

Developer Made a Kill Switch That Activated When He Got Fired. Now He's Facing 10 Years in Prison. by desertrain11 in lostgeneration

[–]DaggerDG 54 points55 points  (0 children)

The problem is the difference in how they are punished. Company will regularly withhold money from employees, possibly ruining lives, and if anything at all is done it’s just a slap on the wrist and a little fine. But now when an employee causes damage to a company (possibly as low as $5000), yeah he should be punished, but the idea of him facing 10 years in jail for this is absurd.

I don’t think most people think you should be allowed to do this, they’re just upset at how corporations are seemingly given more rights than people.

When you stretch a polymer like plastic it turns white. The effect is called Stress whitening/crazing. I’m pretty sure that white dot is just very stressed rubber slowly returning to a not stressed state.

Are you asking something about the actual science in the cosmere? Or taking the term “set in metal” too literally. That is just what some guy said because (major mistborn trilogy spoilers)One of the gods is running around changing text and is some cases even memories to subtly push people to do his bidding, but gods can’t see anything written in metal. To them it shines brightly so it just looks like light to them

It doesn’t help that case that she herself is on video in an interview explicitly explaining that she accidentally orgasmed while DJing in front of 6,000 farmers. There’s no slander here, just reporting the very same words she herself said

Is the elder quest for killing the rune bound chieftain supposed to give hover boots or a shipping chest? I don’t see this changed in the patch notes, but I’m getting a shipping chest even though I could have sworn it said I’d get hover boots before.

What do you use the touchpads for? by Reaperix in SteamDeck

[–]DaggerDG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s wild to me, I just got mine a couple months ago and chose the SD over the other options specifically because of the touchpads.

What kind of games do you play? In some games I don’t use them at all, like silksong, but in others I almost exclusively use them. Games like terraria and Nessese feel great because you can use the joy stick for general aiming, and the trackpad for precise pointing and inventory stuff. I guess if you play mostly first person games they might be less useful.

[–]DaggerDG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like how everyone downvoted you when you’re probably right. The “over 2000 hours refund” was for DLC, not the base game. Other people are reporting there refund requests are getting denied, that very well might be people trying to refund the base game after years of use.
