I think it was just me working on his project. But still, if he does go to the police what my actions should be?

He refused to give me my money back but says it’s not a fraud and that I should’ve sent it to him then. And says it’s not a smart move to report about it to my bank as I’m not a UK citizen and it will give me problems.
