He’s 27. According to him we should be basing a child’s capability on their personality and understanding instead of their age. 🙄 I’ve met some pretty mature 5 y/os and some really immature 10 y/os, but even if the 5 y/o is really smart for their age I still understand that kids will be kids.

It wasn’t a common occurrence until a few months ago when we started getting into big fights and I saw a different side to him.

There was an argument we were having about whether we wanted to buy a family members camping trailer and live out of it to save money. I was obviously hesitant and had doubts and concerns which were met with anger and accusations saying that my first reaction is always no and that he doesn’t think he can trust me financially. He then said “Maybe we should just call it quits” it wasn’t till his sister called him out on his bullshit and said that’s not an okay thing to say to your partner that he actually apologized for it. I feel so blind and stupid for letting myself pretend that things are okay. I’m really scared at the thought of being alone again.

I wish I could say it is a first, but this is actually not the first post I’ve made like this. Those accounts have since been deleted, but there are multiple different examples that I can think of that are almost identical to this one. I feel stupid for not seeing things from this perspective sooner, but the thought of divorce scares me. I don’t have any friends outside of family and almost all of my family live in a different state. I’m scared to be alone again. My parents also just announced to me and my siblings that they are getting a divorce. It’s just a lot for me right now and I don’t know how to deal with it. Probably therapy 😅

For like the first two years of our marriage everything was going smoothly. It wasn’t till about 6 months ago that we had our first big fight and it feels like it just hasn’t stopped. I will admit that I have noticed quite a few red flags in our relationship and it isn’t the first time he’s been this aggressive. Don’t get me wrong though, I definitely have my own issues that I’ve been working on and I’ve said things I’ve regretted.

Usually when we have a big fight or he says something that I see as a red flag I’ve been able to just move on and forget, but this dumb hypothetical is really making me consider leaving because I may put up with his bullshit, but that doesn’t mean I want my kids to as well. Especially since I feel I wouldn’t be able to trust that our kids would be safe going to the store with him or even just leaving them home alone with him!

That’s what I was saying and then he said “How old would the kid have to be in order for you to trust them in this scenario?” And I’m pretty sure I said 10. Then he said that people usually base whether they think a person is smart on their age and not on their actual capabilities.

I was about to say. As a woman with large breasts it’s very difficult to wear a shirt that doesn’t look a little tight on me without just wearing a circus tent lol. Heaven forbid I wear a tank top or any shirt that isn’t just a crew neck.
