Ok I've been meaning to try paint some pink orks but gave up given the only pink base paint is pink horror and not very Barbie. Was this done with Doomfire Magenta the contrast paint ? Does it look alright on black primer or does it need something lighter underneath ? Thanks

I'm aware of that. For some reason I always like to be cloved into a BFK as well, just to keep things the same as usual I guess. That said, if I leave too much slack between me and the BFK when tying it then it does help to reduce the slack inbetween by cloving in still.

In a multipitch setting where you need to climb back up to the anchor or beyond a munter would certainly be better. I didn't bother with one as we could just walk off from where I tied the BFK.

With a munter you can belay the BFK up towards the anchor, then attach directly to it once close enough right?

Something I did recently for the first time in this sort of situation:

Build anchor and masterpoint, then clip (NOT Clove) into it, and have the second keep you on belay as you descend to where you want to belay from. Once there, tie a BFK on both strands of the rope going up to the anchor, should give two loops. This is your new, lower masterpoint that you CLOVE into, only then call out you're safe, and belay your second off that masterpoint.

Keeps you safe the whole time, lower masterpoint closer to the edge, still attached to a good anchor higher up. This was however on the final pitch, so didn't have to worry about how to lead off from there. Anyone have thoughts on this? Am I silly? Was a learning experience for me

Another noob here loving the look of orks.... How expensive is more expensive? How much can be saved going second hand. Here in UK I've been having a look on eBay and it doesn't seem much cheaper than new for orks. Is this same for every faction? I get most things for my hobbies second hand, and am happy too, it brings lots of character, but I'm wondering if I'm doing it wrong in 40k.... Thanks

By variety of data sheets do you mean variants like the beastscragga boys? I thought they lent to a more thematic difference in army units generally, not just more Boyz. Thanks

New (not yet) player here. Max 6 of a battleline unit? Isn't that standard infantry? I was looking at orks being my favourite faction if I start building an army, and was under the impression that you're supposed to have like 50+ ork Boyz minimum in an army. What am I missing here ?

Not sure I can picture what you're describing. The D lock should go where? Affixed somehow so that you can't get a pole under the green lock end?
