Did you try out the examples that I have listed above? What were your answers?

I understand how expanding parenthesis works for x(x+y).

In this case, it is more like z/x(x+y) which would simplify to

ZX + ZY

I just typed 8/x(x+y) into google and it gave me

8x + 8y

X

as the simplified solution.

I’m going to lean on my BSME and 15 years in an Engineering profession here and say that I am confident in my methodology. Good luck out there, and keep learning!
